Ink Blending With Many Layered Blossoms for TGIF 283:

It is Friday!  And time for another TGIF Challenge...this time it is a Designer Takeover!  Fabulous Tami Hewlett has inspired us with a fun technique challenge...Ink Blending!  Have you tried it before?!  Basically...you just take so ink and some Sponge Daubers or Sponges or your fave blending tool and blend that ink onto some cardstock!  It is really easy and so much fun!  So many looks you can achieve!  Then you can simply use the cardstock on your project, or die-cut images or punch from it, and so much more!  I've also used ink blending before to make fun things, like a sun that you can see in THIS POST.  Today, I just did a "rainbow" background.  And I LOVE it!

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Purple Posy, Whisper White
Inks:  Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Purple Posy, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Shimmery White, Basic Black, Vellum
Stamps: Blossoms In Bloom
Tools: Many Layered Blossoms Dies, Old World Paper Embossing Folder, Sponges, Heat Tool
AccessoriesWhite Stampin' Emboss Powder, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (gold thread), Woven Threads Sequins

One of my fave things to do with an Ink Blended piece is to drop water on it after its all blending.  Then I dab it off and it leaves those fun droplets.

I added some stamped flowers and a gold bow just for a little accent.  But honestly...you wouldn't need it.  The background with the fun flowers over it are just as fun.  😊

What do you think?!  I can't WAIT to see what you make!!!  And here is your official challenge invite!!! Make a card or project with Ink Blending, and head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog and submit it!  We LOVE seeing what you make!  💗

Have any questions?!  I would love to help you  with anything you need!  Just drop me a message and I will get right back to you!  Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you enjoy this card!

A Bit of Classic Christmas with Wild Rose:

Time for a classic Christmas card today...using a non-traditional Christmas stamp set.  Day 21 is all about "Classic Christmas" and I decided to use the To A Wild Rose Stamp Set & the coordinating Wild Rose Dies.  So much fun!  I used some more traditional colors to make this Classic Christmas card...

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Gold, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Vellum
Stamps: To a Wild Rose
Tools: Wild Rose Dies, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Subtle Embossing Folder, Sponges, Heat Tool
Accessories: Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (gold thread), Woven Threads Sequins

Gold is classic Christmas, right?!  I hope so...because I went all in with the Gold!  😀  I embossed them in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and then sponged some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over them to make them all glittery.

I threw in some Cherry Cobbler because that is a pretty classic Christmas color, but then I also had to lighten things up with some Pool Party.  Because why not?!  Right?!  😀

I hope you are enjoying this challenge and are playing along!

Thank you so much for visiting and please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  Would love to help you with any of your papercrafting needs!

Arrange A Wreath Card Sketch...

I love a good card sketch!  I know, I know...I've said that before.  😀  But I do!!!  And we get another one for Day 19 of this 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge!  Yay!  And this one is a fun one!

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Inks:  Memento Jet Black
Cardstock/Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Vellum, Champagne Foil Sheets, In Good Taste Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Peace & Joy
Tools: Joy Dies, Wreath Builder Dies, Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folders
Accessories: Woven Threads Sequins, Linen Thread

As soon as I saw the sketch, the Wreath Builder Dies called to me.  😂  So what is a girl to do, but answer that call and use them?!  Hee.  And I just needed to use these bright colors...after yesterday's color combo challenge.  Hee.  So I used Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness, and Granny Apple Green.  Look how gorgeous they all are together...especially with the neutral wood paper (from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper) and Whisper White mixed in with it.  There is even a Vellum layer at the bottom to add a little texture:

Isn't it gorgeous?!  And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper pack!! It is a good thing it is a DOUBLE pack (you get 24 sheets!!!) because I will go through a lot of this!  😀  I have to admit...the little dot pattern (Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folders) is SOOO cute and adds such a fun & delicate detail next to the more rustic wood planks.

And can we talk this Champagne Foil Sheets?!  Oh man...I LOVE them!  It is such a great metallic color!

I just love this little wreath, the pop of Coastal Cabana behind it, and the fun little details.  Also...I can NOT get enough of those Joy Dies!!!  The whole Peace & Joy Bundle I use more than any other Christmas product, I think.  😍  I. LOVE. IT!!!

One more glance at the full card:

And now what are you going to make with this card sketch?!  (Or what have you already made if you are working ahead?!  😀)  I want to see!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you enjoy!  Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you with any of your papercrafting needs!

Modern Take on a Color Combo Challenge:

I am not a big fan of traditional colors for Christmas.  I used to be.  But as I've "woken up" in my age of life...I have realized I really don't like them.  Feeling like I have to use red & green just makes me frustrated.  It isn't like I don't like those colors sometimes.  😁  But I just don't think we should HAVE to use them!  Until today...Day 18 of this 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge.  When there is a color combo challenge telling me I have to use a red & green color combo.  😂  I thought about making something using a take on these colors.  BUT...I embraced it.  And went with a bit modern & more masculine design:

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand
Inks:  VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Whisper White, Shimmery White, Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Vellum
Stamps: Tree Angle
Tools: Subtle Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Stapler, Subtle Embossing Folder
Accessories White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Woven Threads Sequins

What do you think?  There actually is a lot of texture here.  The top layer is a piece of Vellum that I embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I placed this over a layer I adhered narrow strips of these colors onto:

I love those staples and the little detail it adds.  Along with those glitzy sequins.  😊  Look at that fun layer though:

Also...I like how the stripes turned out a whole bunch.  I think I'm going to do this in another fun color combo!  Hee.

What do you think?  I hope you enjoy!  Are you following along with this challenge month?!  😊  It has been so much fun!  Play along with us!

Also...I am here if you have any questions or need any help getting your papercrafting supplies!  Thank you so much for visiting!

Vintage Boughs Christmas Fun!

This 30 day Christmas Card Making Challenge has been a blast, but have to admit...this Day 17 has been tough.  You win some, you lose some...right?!  😀  I did end up liking this card though, so I guess it is a win in the end, right?!  Hee.

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White
Inks:  Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Memento Black Ink, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Vellum
Stamps: Peaceful Boughs, Tag Buffet, Peace & Joy Stamp Set
Tools: Beautiful Boughs Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Heat Tool
Accessories Linen Thread, Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, Whale of a Time Sequins

Does this look vintage-y enough?!  I love this gold embossing!  It's super shiny in real life:

And I love these pine cones!  I stamped them first in Soft Suede onto Soft Suede cardstock.  Then added the more detailed die-cut over the top, in Early Espresso.  Love the texture it gives.  Love that double bow with the delicate white ribbon and linen thread as well.  😁

To get this textured look for the made card panel, I stamped the boughs onto the bottom of Crumb Cake cardstock, added some splatter, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, and then sponged it.  Love all the texture this gives!!!

Hope you enjoy this card!  And hope you are playing along with us!

Detailed Dove Card Sketch...

Can you believe we are at Day 16 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge already?!  And it is time for a fun card sketch today!  I love this sketch a whole bunch!  This would be a great sketch to use all year long!  😀  I will share the sketch at the end of the post.  First up...I want to share the card:

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green
Inks:  Pool Party, StazOn Jet Black
Cardstock/Papers:  Whisper White, Shimmery White, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Christmas Gleaming
Tools: Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Detailed Dove Dies, Basic Pattern Decorative Masks, Sponge Brayer
Accessories Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (gold thread), Woven Threads Sequins

And I just have to say...I totally love this card!  For whatever reason...it makes me happy to look at it.  😀 Bonus...it really came together so quickly, and would be easy enough to mass produce.  And you could easily do this for any theme, occasion, or holiday!  It's such a simple, but fun, sketch!

Some of the details that I love:

I inked the background quickly and easily using the Basic Pattern Decorative Mask & a Sponge Brayer.  I used Pool Party ink onto the Coastal Cabana just to make it a little lighter.  Then distressed the edges a little, just to give it some texture, and roughed up two of the corners.  (Just curl with a bone folder a few times to break up the paper fibers, then separate the layers.)

I LOVE these Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I have used them SOOOO much.  And thought they were the perfect layer.  And that plaid paper...SWOON!!!  SWOON!  😍😍😍  It is from the Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper.  And I LOVE it!  There are SO MANY fun plaid patterns to use!

Just love how it all came together.  The polka dots, the plaid, the dove, the gold bow, the greeting, the sequins, etc, etc...it just makes me happy.

Time to see the actual sketch, right?!  Well...here you go!!!!

What are you going to make?!  I want to see!

Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions!  I would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!

Sponged Sunshine Is Pure Joy...

Anti-Christmas Card is the challenge for Day 15 of this magical 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge.  Yikes!  I may have been the one this challenge was designed for.  😱😆  It is no secret that Christmas is not my favorite holiday.  I know, that sounds terrible.  But, where I live, Christmas is cold and dark and I don't like that weather.  Also..there are just SO MANY expectations and "things" happening, that I usually am just too stressed to enjoy much of anything.  So when asked to make an "anti-Christmas" card for the person that just doesn't love Christmas...well...I went with a card I would like to receive!  😀

SUPPLIES:  (all items are available in my STORE!)

Colors: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Magenta Madness
Inks:  Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Magenta Madness, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Magenta Madness, Shimmery White, Basic Black, Vellum
Stamps: Simply Citrus (from Simply Citrus Card Kit)
Tools: Heat Tool, Sponges, Classic Label Punch
AccessoriesWhite Stampin' Emboss Powder, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack (gold thread), Woven Threads Sequins

I know, I know.  In some parts of the world it is SUNNY for Christmas.  That just isn't what it is where I live.  😖  SOOOO...pure sunshine is the definition of anti-Christmas to me.  Hee.  This sun was SO MUCH FUN to make!!!  Also...I KNOW it isn't a perfect sun.  I kinda didn't want it to be.  I just made a little template (picture below) for the rays, and sponged over the template as I moved it around the sun that was already sponged.  And side note... was going to be more exact about the rays...but decided I didn't want to.  And I love the imperfect look for this card and the theme!  The sun was sponged first though, and I just cut out a circle from Vellum with one of my circle dies to use that as a template.

Some of my fave details you can see better below.  I love the shaker card it became!  I thought that was such a fun touch!  I was already adding the vellum layer, and I wanted to sew it on.  So thought...why not just throw some sequins in there?!  Hee.  I LOVE IT!  The stitching is so much fun too!  I also love the bow and Designer Series Paper accent in the corner.  Adds some fun color.  And I love the embossed greeting.  (It is from the stamp set that comes with the Simply Citrus card kit!)  It is the perfect greeting for this card, obviously.  Hee.  And i just LOVE LOVE those sponged rays!  I used Daffodil Delight as the main ink color, then sponged a bit of Mango Melody at the bottom of the ray.  On the bottom of the sun, I added some Magenta Madness ink.

Here is the little "template" I made for the rays.  It is just a couple pieces of scrap cardstock and a post it.  Not complicated at all!

I hope you enjoy this card!  And play along with the challenge that is going on this month!

Let me know if you have any questions!  I would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!
