Timeless Tropical Time For Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge!

Have you been following along this month with the Stampin' Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge?!  If not...make sure you follow us, the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team, on Instagram or Facebook.  There have been LOTS of inspiration!  And I'm sharing mine today!

ColorsPolished Pink, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Whisper White
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Memento Black, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Polished Pink, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Art Gallery, Timeless Tropical
Tools: In the Tropics Dies, Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, Heat Tool
Accessories: Shaker Shapes, Basics Embossing Powders (white), Linen Thread
Have to admit...I LOVE this card.  😁 It may be slipping into the fall time of year where I love, but I'm a forever summer type of girl!  Hee.  What can I say?!  Now...want to see the sketch that inspired this card?!  Then stick around because I will share some of the details of this card below!

This is SUCH a fun sketch that I can see using time & time again!  So feel free to bookmark this one!  But like I promised...here are a few more pics and details of the card!

To make that fabulous pineapple...I did some watercoloring onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  For the green, I used Granny Apple Green.  Then splattered with the same color.  For the base of the pineapple, I used a mix of Daffodil Delight & Mango Melody.  Then splattered with Mangy Melody.

After it is all dried, it is time to use the In The Tropics Dies to cut the pineapple out...

And all of that to get this gorgeous focal point...

After that pineapple was made...I embossed the "I MISS YOU" greeting multiple time on Polished Pink cardstock to add to the card front.  And stamped the flower from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set onto the Coastal Cabana card base.

Should we discuss the background on the card?  Those gorgeous white layers that may be a background...but the part that makes it all POP?!  I LOVE the effect.  I cut panels from Whisper White cardstock and them embossed them with the Seashells Embossing Folder.  Then distressed the edges of each of the panels with the edge of a pair of scissors.  (BE CAREFUL and don't cut yourself!). Then splattered with some black ink!  My crafting style usually uses a lot of texture...and I LOVE the texture that this fun detail adds.

And then here are just a few more pics of the card...

I hope you enjoy this fun card inspired by that fabulous card sketch!  Now I want to see what you make!!!  So take this sketch, make something with it, then tag us in it!!!

Inspiration with Stitched Leaves for TGIF Challenge 335!

It's fall season here in America...anyone excited?!  I know lots are...I, however...am not one of those people.  Haha.  I'm a summer gal through & through so fall gets a bit depressing and sad for me.   Haha.  But I do love this challenge.  It is a fun fall inspirational one...and you can take it any direction that you want!  So play along with us!  I am sharing my card first, and then I will share the inspirational photo for you!  Then you just head over to the TGIF Challenge Blog to post your card!

On to the card...

ColorsPolished Pink, Just Jade, Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: Polished Pink, Just Jade, Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Pattern Party Designer Series Paper, Gold & Rose Gold 6"x6" Metallic Specialty Paper
Stamps: Best Year
Tools: Timber 3D Embossing Folder, Stitched Leaves Dies
Accessories: Linen Thread, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Now that you have seen the card...here is the official Challenge assignment:

So cute, huh?!  I didn't do pumpkins...as you saw.  But still went fall with leaves!  And a touch of gold!  (Did you notice that GORGEOUS paper in the background?!  That is the Gold from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.)

Love these multi-loop bows.  Just take multiple strands (I used 3 here), stack them together, and tie a bow.  I think the impact this bow has works so well for this card.

Now should we talk about these fabulous leaves?!  Have to be honest...they took a little extra time. But I have to say...I feel like it was totally worth it. I love them.  Want to know the steps I took to make these beauties?!  Well, ok then!
  1. Use the Stitched Leaves Dies to cut out the leaves from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  2. Watercolor each of the leaves.  Colors I used here: Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, Just Jade, Calypso Coral
  3. Sponge the edges with the same color you watercolored them with.
  4. Once all ink is dry, splatter the leaves with the coordinating ink color.
  5. Again, once splatter is dry, lightly crumple the leaves.
It was FUN to play with paper like this.  Loved adding the detail.  And then, to adhere them down, I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and just a light line down the middle, to allow for some of the leaves to pop off the page.

Here are a few pics of the leaves...

I love the black pop with the greeting, also.  I emboss greetings in white on black QUITE a bit.  But...seriously...just look at how much fun it is...

Don't you love how it pops?!

Ok...I've said too much of what I love.  What details are your favorites?  Here is the full card again...

Thank you so much for visiting!  Don't forget to pop on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog to play along!  Can't wait to see what you make!  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Team Challenge with Sweet Ice Cream!

So...did someone mention that July is over?!  Where did that month go?!  Haha.  WHAT?  The next month is over too?!  And also the NEXT month is almost over?!  My dears...I am behind.  Anyone else feeling that way?!

I can't believe how fast time is flying!  BUT...my team had a theme challenge in July and I'm finally sharing what I made for it!  😀 Please tell me better late than never is ok!  Haha.

ColorsPolished Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Coastal Cabana, Pale Papaya, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: Polished Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pale Papaya, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Basic Black, Polished Pink
Stamps: Sweet Ice Cream, Watercolor Shapes
Tools: Checks & Dots Embossing Folders, Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Heat Tool
Accessories: Genial Gems, Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack (white ribbon), Baker's Twine Essential Pack (white twine), 3/8" Fine Art Ribbon, Basics Embossing Powders (white), Metallics Embossing Powders (gold)

And tell me that Sweet Ice Cream is always in season!  Hee.  One of my team members posted an inspirational photo.  We are then to use this photo as inspiration for a project.  Here was the photo she submitted...

So fun and patriotic...and perfect for July since America celebrates our Independence Day in July!  So I stuck with the "red, white, and blue" theme and used shades of those colors.  😉And then just copied the popsicle theme!  I loved making this card and I LOVE the different stamps in the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set that makes it so easy to get the shading on these popsicles!  Here are the images in the stamp set:

Aren't they the cutest?!  💕

Then to create the greeting, I actually embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder on Vellum Cardstock.  Then just cut it out and adhered it to the popsicles.  I LOVE the look of this!

Also a fun tip...see the little "scallop" below the greeting?!  Well...I used the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch for that!  Just punched one out, trimmed off one of the ends of the scallops, and adhered it behind the greeting!  Easy, peasy!

I love this polka dot background also.  I used the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder for this...and I'm swooning!  💕

One last view of the full card.  Hope you enjoy!

Sending Hugs to You!

Back in July..those of us on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team had a fun challenge going on!  We were showcasing a bunch of the new bundles from the ☆NEW☆ Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog!  And yes...it has taken me this long to share mine.  I am sorry!  BUT...still love everything shared!  Hee.  So...check out the card I made, and then go check out Stampin' Fancy Friday on Facebook and/or IG to see all of the cards!

I am a hugger & lover of hugs...so I was SO EXCITED to see the Sending Hugs Bundle in the new catalog.  And this was the first card I made with it...

ColorsPolished Pink, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: Polished Pink, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana, VersaMark, Dark Polished Pink Blends Marker
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Thick Whisper White, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Pattern Party Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Sending Hugs
Tools: Layering Hugs Dies, Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Water Painters
Accessories: Genial Gems, Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack (white ribbon), Baker's Twine Essential Pack (white twine), 3/8" Fine Art Ribbon, Basics Embossing Powders (white), Metallics Embossing Powders (gold)

Fun bright florals WHILE sending hugs?!  Well you bet!  Paper hugs (aka...handmade cards) are an amazing version of a hug, right?!  😁 I embossed the stamped image with Gold Embossing Powder before coloring in with a Water Painter and a variety of ink colors.

Love some layered ribbons also!  Hee.  I used a Polished Pink Blends Marker to color the white ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack to make it hot pink!  Such a fun pop on the white card!

Just a few more pics of the details of the card...

Let me know if you have any questions!  Go check out the other fun bundle projects that were shared by the whole design team in July!  Thank you for visiting!  Would love to help you with any of your papercrafting needs!

Shaded Summer Meets FREE Beautifully Penned Paper for TGIF Challenge #333!

Can you believe there have been 333 TGIF Challenges?!?!  WOW!  And this one is one of my favorite type of challenges...a fabulous SKETCH Challenge!   I LOVE these because the "guess work" of designing a card is done for you!  You can copy it as is, or take a few liberties...or as many liberties as you want...to make it your own!  I took a few liberties on the design that I am submitting for this weeks challenge:

ColorsPolished Pink, Pool Party, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: StazOn Jet Black, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Polished Pink, Vellum, Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Shaded Summer
Tools: Timeworn Type Embossing Folder
Accessories: Just Jade & Gold 3/8" Braided Ribbon, Gilded Gems

I wanted to show you the card before the sketch so you could just enjoy the card and not worry about what I followed exactly and what I just took the "idea" of but changed up a bit.  But now that you have seen the card...here is the sketch!

So as you can see...I totally followed along.  Instead of the background stripes so straight and aligned, I layered varying thicknesses & lengths of strips of the GORGEOUS Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper (that you can get FREE before the end of the month!!! with a qualifying order!!! through Sale-A-Bration!) in the background instead.  But other than that...pretty straight forward from the sketch!

Here are a few more pics of the details:

For the rectangle piece of the sketch, I used Vellum Cardstock and embossed the floral images from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set onto the corners.  Then add I did was add a fun greeting and you have a dynamic focal point layer!

So check out that Vellum Cardstock layer, the layered Designer Series Paper strips in the background, the fabulously embossed Whisper White background piece, and MORE!  😀

I hope you enjoy and I can't WAIT to see what you come up with!  The participate this week...just make a project inspired by the sketch, then head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog and post it!  We love to see what everyone makes!

Thank you SO MUCH for visiting!  You are the best!  Let me know if you have any questions!  Especially if you want to learn about Sale-A-Bration and earn FREE things before September is over!

Technique Tuesday With Custom Striped Accents!

One of my assignments on Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team is to do share some fun techniques.  My first one was shared at the end ...
