This sketch was fun, and this card is a bit out of my "norm."  My colors are used, for sure.  Haha.  But...it just feels more busy with that pattern.  But I LOVE LOVE this pattern paper!  It is the Abstract Beauty 4"x6" Speciality Designer Series Paper!  And it is FABULOUS!  Check out all the fun patterns in this easy to use 4x6 size!

And here are some more details of the card up close!  I watercolored over the greeting to add a bit of color in a fun way.  That Polished Pink flower makes my heart swoon!  And I LOVE the Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels.  They make ANY project fun!

I hope you enjoy!  OH!  I need to show you the fun sketch this card was based on!

Blending Sea Life ... TGIF Challenge 357!

Hey!  Ashley here, from the TGIF Challenges Design Team, to share another TGIF Challenge with you! This time it is a product spotlight/technique challenge!  I had a lot of fun with this one! AND it is pretty quick & easy for a technique!  Winning!!  AND...I even have 4 cards to share with you!  So without further ado...here are the cards I made!

Colors Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black, White
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic White Thick, Basic Black
Stamps: Friends Are Like Seashells
Tools: Heat Tool, Blending Brushes, Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, Sea Life Dies
Accessories: Basics Embossing Powder, Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

Yes...I made four!  But kept them all the same layout.  I love the variation that the different colors create though.  Because the blending is the cool part...which is what this challenge is!

I will share real quick what I did to do this blending, but it really is so easy.  I just took a piece of Basic White cardstock and used the Blending Brushes to add color to it!  I didn't worry too much about it looking "smooth" or anything.  I wanted "chunks" of color variation and stuff.  This is what the cardstock looked like when I was done...

I used Polished Pink, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, and Mango Melody.  Again...it is NOT super smooth and blended.  If you want to make it more blended...like for a background or something...just keep blending!  I just then picked the spots I wanted to die-cut from, added my dies, and cut them out!  Look how cute they are!

Then I just kept the layout simple...so these cuties would pop!  You could obviously easily make these with any sentiment for any occasion.  I happened to need some thank you's...so that is the greeting I used.  Let's check them out up close...photo overload warning!

Which one is your favorite?!  I'm obsessed with these, if I'm being honest.  Haha.  Love looking at them!

Now you can go play along!  Just head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog and play along!!!  Let me know if you have any questions!

And let me know how I can help you get your hands on some Stampin' Up! supplies!

For The Record...

FUN FACT about me...I ALWAYS say "For the Record!"  I don't know why, but I will say it with things like, "For the record...I miss you."  Or "For the record...I was just kidding."  Or a million on things.  So when I saw this stamp set...I WAS SO EXCITED!!!!  So here is my first (OF MANY!) cards using this stamp set!

Colors Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Basic Black
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Memento Black, Polished Pink Blends Markers
Cardstock/Papers: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: For the Record
Tools: Sponge Daubers, Water Painter, Heat Tool, Layering Circles Dies
Accessories: Metallics Embossing Powder, Basics Embossing Powder, Sequins for Everything

Another fun fact...I LOVE music, songs that speak to my soul & help me process my emotions, etc, etc.  So I am SO GLAD this sentiment is in this stamp set!  I LOVE IT!!!

***FUN TIP*** I used the LAYERING CIRCLES DIES to die-cut the record.  The largest circle cut it out PERFECTLY!

That gold embossing is 😍!  Just used a sponge dauber to add some versamark to the paper, after doing a watercolor wash.  Then added some Gold Embossing Powder, smeared it around a bit with my finger, then used the heat tool to melt it!

I also stamped the record in Memento Black, and then quickly added clear embossing powder to it.  I LOVE the glossy, real-like feel it gives!

I hope you enjoy this card!  Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questiosn!  And don't forget about the special I am offering this week!

LOVE the texture and shimmer that adds!  I super love this rainbow along with the pop of that black & white greeting!

Do you love the "sketchy" stamp sets?!  You know...the ones of fun sketches of people & things that make you feel like you just drew just a pretty work of art?!  Well...I do too!  But sometimes...I don't end up using them because I don't have time to color them all in and stuff.  SO TODAY I am sharing you another option!  Keep them in black & white!  I used the In The Moment Stamp Set from the January-June Mini Catalog.  And look how cute it turned out!

Colors Polished Pink, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: Memento Black
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Polished Pink
Stamps: In the Moment
Tools: Stitched Rectangles Dies, Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder
Accessories:  Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Linen Thread

I love the pop of pink.  And I love that202 this card was so easy and quick to make!

And can you guess what that scallop is?!  It is made with the ICE CREAM CONE BUILDER PUNCH!
Just punch the ice cream scoop out and then adhere it to the back of the cardstock...with the scallop peeking out!  💕

See this cute little ice cream scoop shape:

Golden Friendly Hello!!

Why HELLO there!  Can you believe there are just a few more week in the FABULOUS Sale-A-Bration promotion?!  (This is the promotion that you can earn FREE exclusive products just for ordering fabulous Stampin' Up! supplies!  💕) Did you know there is a Sale-A-Bration BUNDLE in the Sale-A-Bration brochure?!  And I can't stop using it!  It is called the Friendly Hello Bundle...and comes with a darling stamp set & Designer Series Paper Pack!  I kinda can't stop using it...and I am sharing the lastest card that I have made with it today!

Colors Pool Party, Petal Pink, Fresh Freesia, Whisper White, Gold
Inks: Pool Party, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Vellum
Stamps: Friendly Hello
Tools: Sponge Daubers, Bough Punch, Heat Tool, Bark 3D Embossing Folder
Accessories:  Adhesive-Backed Hexagons, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Metallics Embossing Powders, Heart & Home Doilies

This is one of those cards that I just couldn't stop playing with.  I kept adding little textures and details.  Let's examine this a little closer, shall we?!  😀

First of all...look at the shine of that Gold Embossing Powder.  SWOON!  💕 So I just kept adding it.  Haha.  I embossed the greeting.  Then I added some "dipped" embossing to the punched pieces.  Then I "splattered" it around the card.  ***TIP:  Take a sponge dauber and just pounce it on the card where you want some shimmer.  Add gold embossing powder.  Then, BEFORE heating, take a small paint brush and dust off some of the powder where it may get too "heavy" on the powder.  Then VOILA!  Some splattered and dipped gold!

I also LOVE the floral detail behind that GORGEOUS doily!  ***TIP!  The doilies are from the January-June Mini Catalog!  They are the Heart & Home Doilies...and you get 30 of them for $5.00!! (US) And they are FABULOUS quality.  There are 3 different colors and then the back side of all of them is white!  Yeah...one of the best deals out there!  I LOVE this delicate doily!

That punched detail is one of my fave things also.  It is the Bough Punch, also in the January-June Mini Catalog.  I punched a few from the Fresh Freesia Cardstock, and then also from Vellum Cardstock.  Then just layered them together with a double Baker's Twine bow.  Pretty & delicate!

Those first details are definitely the stars of the show.  But I kinda really love these supporting stars.  Love the distressed corners...carrying on with some gold splatter & dipping...and that embossed background layer to just add a little bit of texture.  And those HEXAGON embellishments...SWOON!!!! 😍 SWOON!!!! 😍  MAJOR SWOON!!!!! 😍

I had so much fun making this card!  Did any of this inspire you to get creating?!  Getting my bum into my craft room and getting some paper in my hands just helps so much with my stress & anxiety in life.  Going through the last few years of a pandemic...well it has taught me a lot about myself.  And one thing is really how grateful I am for the craft!  I truly love it!

Before I forget!  Here is that fabulous Friendly Hello Bundle that you can earn FREE! this month!

"Daubing" With Blessings of Home!

Do you like coloring on your papercrafting projects?!  Is that soothing & relaxing to you or just time-consuming & annoying?!  Personally...I LOVE coloring.  It is totally calming for me.  BUT...sometimes I am in a hurry or need to make a bunch of the same card or whatever else that just doesn't make it feasible to do any detail coloring.  But I still want to add a pop of color.  Welcome to SPONGE DAUBERS!  I love these things!  (Picture of them at bottom for reference.) I used them to add some color to this image that was stamped with the Blessing of Home Stamp Set.  It is quick, easy, & CUTE!

Colors Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Inks: Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Memento Black
Cardstock/Papers: Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Whisper White
Stamps: Blessing of Home
Tools: Sponge Daubers, Water Painter (for splatter)
Accessories: Linen Thread, Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins

See how easy!  Stamp your image, daub your dauber into your ink choice, "daub" onto the image where you want that color,

***TIP: I "daub" off on scratch paper first to avoid getting a super heavy concentration of color on my first daub on my image

and then rub in circles around image to get a little variation of color.  The point of this is to NOT have it look perfect & clean!  You WILL go out of the lines, and I LOVE that part.  It is artistic...not perfect.  😁 I also added some splatter and distressing to add some texture and detail to this fairly simple card.

Check out the details!

I really love this card!  It is very pretty & feminine to me...without a ton of "fluff."  And, as promised, here is what the sponge daubers are...for reference!

So what do you think?!  Want to try this technique!  I hope so!  Go give it a whirl and let me know how it goes!  Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks so much for visiting!  Let me know if I can help you with any of your papercrafting needs!  I would love to help!
