Talented Friends + Catalog Sample + Sweet As A Peach = Sweet Symmetry

I love the Sweet Symmetry Suite Collection.  Bold florals, fun punch, GORGEOUS paper in fun colors and patterns (that is currently ON SALE!!!!, by the way!!)...what is not to love?! 😁 I also LOVE the You're A Peach Suite.  Well...today I am kind of combining them.  See...I have to brag and mention that I have some amazingly talented friends.  Some of these friends actually design stuff for the Stampin' Up! catalogs.  Today...I am sharing a card that one of them made for the You're A Peach Suite that I then copied and made using the Sweet Symmetry Suite!  I just turned it into a tag!  Here is the card she made, and then how I copied it!

So much fun, I think!  I LOVE both of these papers!  (Yes...BOTH are on sale!!!) And I loved the layout and beautiful design of her card.  I plan on coping this one more than once.  Hee.

Here is the beautiful photo that Stampin' Up! took of this card and the other suite projects...

I mean...seriously...swooning at all of those projects!  Aren't they the cutest?!  😍 I guess though...now I should show you more of the tag I made (although...spoiler alert...I forgot to photograph the tag on the gifts I put them on!  OOOPS!!!) with the Sweet Symmetry Suite...

ColorsPolished Pink, Just Jade, Pool Party, Whisper White, Gold
Inks: Polished Pink, Just Jade, Pool Party, StazOn Jet Black
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper, Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper
Stamps: In Symmetry, Watercolor Shapes, A Wish For Everything
Tools: Paper Trimmer, Scissors
Accessories: Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

I LOVE that Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.  It's sooooo pretty in real life.  It has such a cool texture.  And the pattern to this paper makes my heart swoon.  I love those flower prints.  And to get the background...I used the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set.  This is QUICKLY becoming one of my most used stamp sets.  I LOVE it!  I used one of the rectangle stamps and this is how I stamped it...

I adhered the paper on top and stamped my sentiment first, and then that helped me know where to space the shapes.  Then when you add the flower, you can't even see the line in between the two rectangles!  Strategic placement, I'd say!  Hee.  I just LOVE this flower SOOO much and I LOVE these colors!  And even though Polished Pink isn't technically a color listed in the coordinating colors in this collection, I think it works great with this paper!

And just because I love seeing the stack of mass-produced projects...here are some of the tags I made all together...

I hope you enjoy!  Thank you so much for visiting and please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  Also...I hope this encourages you to scour that Stampin' Up! catalog and see how much fun is in there...just waiting to be had!  Fine your favorite sample and make it with different products and see where it takes you!

Dandy Wishes Balloon Birthday...

Birthday cards for a guy can be tricky at times.  But also...sometimes they just work out.  And that's how I feel about this one that I am sharing today.  I love the colors, watercoloring, accents, and even a fun little altering of a die to make it just what I needed.  😁

ColorsWhisper White, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody
Inks: Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Whisper White, Thick Whisper White, Basic Black, Mango Melody, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Sharing Sunshine (dots on balloon), Sweet Ice Cream (Happy Birthday sentiment), Handsomely Suited (You're the Best sentiment)
Tools: Heat Tool, Dandy Wishes Dies, Layering Circle Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Water Painters, Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch
Accessories: White Stampin' Emboss Powder (Basics Embossing Powders, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder (Metallics Embossing Powders), Shaker Shapes

There are a few fun details on here that I will explain a little.  But first...can we talk about the Shaker Shapes Embellishment?!  MAJOR Swooning!!! going on over here.  😍😍😍 The stars (it comes with mini stars, hearts, and circles) were the PERFECT little touch for this card.  (I also really love that little detail under the "You're the Best" sentiment...that was punched from the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch and trimmed to fit.)

Aren't they adorable?!  😁 Now on to explaining some of the details...I did a watercolor wash with Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana.  I used the largest Water Painter Brush and just added water all over the background BEFORE I added ink.  Once it was wet...then I got some ink on there, so it would really blend well.  I wanted the two colors to really fade into each other where they met...like you can see here...

Now can we talk about this balloon?  I was shocked at how perfect it was.  😀 I actually used the large flower die from the Dandy Wishes Dies...

Combine this die-cut with the Layering Circle Dies, and you have yourself a perfect balloon!  😊

One last tip is about the gold embossed splatter.  I used some VersaMark ink refill and a Water Painter.  I mixed a little water with the ink, flicked the water painter on the end of the lid, and "splattered" away.  Then I added gold embossing powder (from the Metallics Embossing Powders) and embossed it.  I love this so much!

I hope you enjoy this card!  Please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  What is your favorite detail on this card?!

Hand-Penned Petals Color Love - TGIF Challenge 323...

Yay!  Time for a color challenge!  You know I love these!  So let's get to it!

Colors: Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia
Inks: Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Pool Party
Cardstock/Papers: Fresh Freesia, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheets
Stamps: Hanned-Penned Petals, A Wish for Everything
Tools: Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, Penned Flowers Dies, Heat Tool, Water Painters
Accessories: Metallics Embossing Powders, Linen Thread, Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins,

Look at these colors!  Yay!

A few details on this card...I embossed the floral images in Gold Embossing Powder first...onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Then I just watercolored away!  I LOVE watercoloring.  I honestly just quickly added color...didn't take time for details or anything.  I like that look a lot.

Then I just watercolored the background with Pool Party ink, and added some splatter when it was all dry.  Then stamped my greeting, added some twine, and there you have it!

Here are a few more pics of the watercoloring...

This scallop is from the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies.  I just cut it out from Gold Foil Paper and adhered one to the top and one to the bottom.  Then added it to the card front!

I hope you enjoy!  Please let me know if you have any questions!  And I can't wait to see what you make!  Just head on over to the TGIF Challenges blog and submit your card!  We LOVE seeing what you guys create!

Let me know how I can help you!  Would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!
