Sea Turtle & More ... Leftovers Turned Birthday!

What do you do with the "leftover" pieces from your papercrafting projects?!  I have a little container next to where I work & sometimes I add some pieces to projects I'm working on, and some I forget about.  Haha.  The other week I went to town with my leftovers!  😂  I had quite a bit of some fun pieces that I wanted to make sure didn't get wasted, so card making frenzy began!  Sharing the first one today!

Colors Crumb Cake, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Lost Lagoon, Basic White
Inks: Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, VersaMark, BLENDS: Fresh Freesia, Lost Lagoon
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Vellum
Stamps: Of Art & Texture, Sea Turtle, Beauty of the Deep, Phrases for All
Tools:  Beauty of the Deep Dies, Timber Embossing Folder, Sponge Dauber, Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Rhinestones, Linen Thread

I have done a few things with the fabulous Sea Turtles set lately, and had a few leftover turtles!  Look how cute they are swimming in some coral!   And I love the coloring of the turtles.  When I originally stamped them, I inked the turtle up in Lemon Lime Twist first.  I then used a sponge dauber inked in Granny Apple Green to pounce some variation onto the turtle before stamping.  😍

Just about everything on this card was lounging around waiting to be put to use!  So I was very happy to give them a home.  😁  That purple coral is actually cut out of vellum and then colored with a Blends Marker.  Then I also used the Lost Lagoon Blends Marker to color the Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon that you can use FREE through February* during Sale-A-Bration!  (*or while supplies last)

I also love the texture stamped around the main focal point!  It adds such a fun touch.

I used the Of Art & Texture stamp set and this is what it looked like before I added the main panel:

All in all - I had a lot of fun making this card!  What is your favorite detail?

Thank you so much for visiting my page!  I hope you enjoy!  Please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  I would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs.  And if you need help with getting any Stampin' Up! supplies - I would love to help with that also!

Planted Paradise With TGIF #457!

Woot!  It is that time again!  TGIF Challenge time!  Which means, since I am on the design team - I get to share a card that I made using the week's challenge.  And then YOU get to make a card inspired by the challenge and share it on the TGIF Challenge Blog.  This week is a fun inspirational challenge, and we can't wait to see what you make!

First up though, here is the card I made! ...

Colors Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Starry Sky, Basic White
Inks: Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Starry Sky, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheets, Masking Paper
Stamps: Planted Paradise, Lifetime of Love (sentiment)
Tools:  Deckled Circles Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Fern Embossing Folder, Water Painter
Accessories: Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

And then here is the challenge!  Use the colors, the layout, the "love" theme ... whatever inspires you from this!  Go with it!

I loved the layout and the "wash" behind the image.  I also added a little love to the card.  First ... I used Stampin' Up!'s Masking Paper & the Deckled Circles to die-cut a circle.  (This masking paper is THE BEST, for the record.  I LOVE it.  So easy to cover what you need covered, do your technique, & then easily remove when needed.  So that is what you see here.  First, I added to die-cut to my Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Then I did my watercolor wash with Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, & Melon Mambo ink.  Then I did some black splatter & removed the masked circle.

So fun, right?!  I used this as a base and I really like how the blank circle grounds the focal point.  And speaking of focal point ... I LOVE the Planted Paradise Stamp Set.  It is so much fun to layer the beautiful plants pieces together.  And don't they just look GORGEOUS?! I love it! 😍

The layer of texture behind it all, made with the Fern Embossing Folder, adds the perfect finishing touch to this card.

I hope you enjoy this card! Thank you so much for visiting!  Now ... head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog to see what the other designers made and then play along with us this week!  We can't wait to see what you do!

Please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  I would love to help you with your papercrafting needs! I would also love to help you get any Stampin' Up! supplies you need!

STAMPIN' UP! ARTISAN ROAD TRIP Blog Hop!!

Well I hope you are excited!  Because today is a special day! Embark on this unique journey around the globe, as the 2024 Artisan Design Team introduce you to their hometown on the Artisan Road Trip!!!

I share my curbside chronicles here in the USA by representing 2 places in this country. The first is Utah, where I currently live & have lived for most of my adult life. But I consider my "hometown" the place I grew up, East Tennessee. So I felt like I couldn't represent one without representing the other! I am excited to give a taster of where I live & grew up through the power of papercraft. 💕

I look forward to designing for you each and every month throughout this year and hope you’ll join me. Continue on the Artisan Road Trip to another curbside, in another town and learn a little about where we each live and design from. Enjoy the ride.

A little note: this is an Instagram Blog Hop. BUT ... I wanted to share here too so I could give more details & stuff. So I have the Instagram handles of all participants at the end of this post ... so make sure you head there to follow along when you are finished here! 💕

Can you guess which place inspired each piece of this card?! Don't worry - this isn't a quiz. I will tell you. 😉 Utah has a FABULOUS outdoor life, and is my favorite part of this state. The mountains are vast and gorgeous and fun to explore. I love to hike and getting out in nature is a must do for me. We have multiple national parks and I think you could find a new place to awe over every time you step out into nature here. So ... a background forest and some fun mountains (made with the Basic Borders Dies!) to represent this gorgeous state! Then for Tennessee, I just had to use that cute country truck with a fabulous classic southern saying! 😍 But also fun enough, the east part of that state where I am from is also gorgeous. There are even "mountains" close by (rolling hills really, compared to the Rocky Mountains that I live by now. Hee.) and so much nature to explore. I feel pretty lucky to have lived most of my life in 2 gorgeous places where beauty abounds!

Now want a few details about this card?! 😁

I used the FABULOUS Mini Alphabet Dies in Stampin' Up!'s Mini Catalog to create my greeting. I just love hearing this phrase with a southern accent! (I, sadly, have lived in Utah too long and lost what accent I had. 😔) And look at those fun mountain layers! I just cut some Crumb Cake Cardstock with some of the Basic Border Dies to create this fun layered mountain range. Embossed the back layer and then just stamped some texture on the front layer.

And this Coastal Cabana truck just makes me smile! Easy to stamp, punch, & add to any card or project you are making! 😍 Also ... that scallop dazzling layer just makes me swoon.

I hope you enjoyed this card and learning a bit about my place(s) in the world!

Being Creative With Simply Sparkling!

Stampin' Up!'s Online Exclusives are such a fabulous product offering, and I am currently LOVING the Simply Sparkling Bundle!  It is so cute!  So when I had an upcoming Artisan assignment to do for Stampin' Up!, where I got to pick what product I wanted to use, I jumped on using the Simply Sparkling Bundle.  BUT ... I didn't use the soda can at all for these projects!  Want to see what I made and a few tips to make them yourself?!  (Or to use the techniques in any project you want?! 😁)  Well - here we go!

Colors Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, VersaMark, BLENDS: Bubble Bath, Pool Party, Basic Black
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheets
Stamps: Simply Sparkling
Tools:  Simply Sparkling Dies, Modern Oval Punch, Elegant Tag Topper Punch, Timber 3D Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Water Painter
Accessories: Simply Elegant Trim, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Metallics Embossing Powder

These are the projects I made, and LOOK!  No soda can!  Hee.  I truly had so much fun making this fun birthday gift duo, and I want to point out a few fun techniques that I did to make these projects really pop.

Let me show you a few things on the card first!

The highlight of this card for me is the watercolored background! Stamp & emboss the images onto Watercolor Paper, then just add color using a Water Painter and your choice of ink.  ***Tip: Squeeze the ink pad before opening it so that the lid touches the ink pad.  This will create a little pool of ink in the top of the lid allowing you to easily grab the ink with your Water Painter.  Use water to create various color shades, giving depth to your images.  Once the colored lemons are dry, use the same technique to color the background.

Love a striped detail on a project?!  Me too! Now you can have stripes in any color! Simply pick a Stampin' Blend in the color of your choice and freehand stripes across a strip of cardstock.  Then, simply adhere the striped cardstock to your project, leaving a bit of the cardstock showing.  The fun detail really makes the entire card pop!

Here are just a few more photos showing you the details of the card:

One small thing to point out on the greeting part.  If you are wondering what cardstock I used on the "FRIEND" part of the greeting ... let me help with that!  I used Basic White!  What?! you may be asking.  Hee.  Yup.  I just colored with Bubble Bath Blends Markers on some Basic White, in a little bit of an ombre, and then stamped onto that.  So just color with the light and then add a little dark on the bottom.  I love this little detail.  And a little spoiler alert ... I share a bit more on this below because this is the same thing I did for the belly band on the box!  Just on a smaller scale here, so I wanted to point it out!

Now for the gift box...

I really love this box, and it is so easy to make with the Envelope Treat Boxes in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog! I watercolored some lemons, like I showed above, & also did the little Blends Marker Ombre for the sentiment.  Then for the background of the tag, I just did a quick watercolor wash in Bubble Bath with some splatter.  So the tag came together really easily.  However ... the fun part of this to me is the ombre band! The same way I did the little greetings above, I did the whole band:

It really is so easy to create an ombre band for the gift box.  Just use Stampin' Blends to color a strip of cardstock! Start with the light Stampin' Blends on top & blend it into the dark Stampin' Blends at the bottom! The more you color over a spot, the darker it will get.  So just add more color on the bottom so it will be your darkest layer!  I am just completely obsessed at how it looks when it is all put together!

So what do you think?  What is your favorite part of this?!  As a fun reference ... here is a photo of all the supplies I used!

I hope you loved this project and it inspires you in some way!  I would love to see anything you make! 💗 Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help getting your hands on any of these products!  (Or any other Stampin' Up! products! 😍)

Me?! A GUEST Designer?!

Well color me excited!  Today is such a fun day for me!  Do you follow the account Stampin' Through The Catalog?  If you don't, you should!  They are a team of FABULOUS artists that stamp their way through the stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! catalogs, and encourage us to do the same.  It is so much fun seeing what they create, and in turn-inspire others to create.  They also have guest designers they spotlight.  And ... yes!  All of this to say ... they picked ME to be a guest designer today!  To say I am excited is an understatement.  I have looked up to each of these designers for years and years!  They are SOOOO talented!  So today they shared my project, and tomorrow - they have are doing a live video where they share projects they made that were inspired by MINE!  What?!  These fabulous ladies that have inspired me now are making something inspired by my card?  Yes...I am beaming and probably won't stop.  Haha.

So - without further ado - here is the card I made!

Colors Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, 2022-2024 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Beach Day
Tools:  Beach Day Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Heat Tool, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, Blending Brush
Accessories: Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Basics Embossing Powder

When I was asked what stamp set I wanted to use, well, it was kinda a no-brainer.  Haha.  Beach Day Bundle in the ☆NEW☆ Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog was the sure winner.  Hee.  I LOVE anything beach related so to say I squealed when I saw this for the first time is an understatement.  Just look at how cute this bundle is:

Definitely squeal-worthy, right?!  Haha.  Yeah, I figured you would agree.  Hee.

I had so much fun with this card.  I LOVE that surf board.  So I wanted them to be the star of the show on this card.  But there are some fun details I want to point out:

  • Stamped surfboards onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, then embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Watercolor surfboards in a soft, but bright & cheery, color combo.
  • Layer white cardstock with different techniques to add texture.  Embossed background, a "clean" die-cut layer, then a blended ink/splattered piece to all make the focal point pop a bit more.
  • Palm Trees: watercolor the colors you want onto watercolor paper.  Die-cut the images from the watercolored paper, and then layer together.

I love how it all works together to create a fun beachy card!  I have to admit ... I have stared at this card more than once since I made it, just to feel some beach vibes in my heart during winter.  Hee.

Hope you enjoy!  Thank you so much for visiting!  I would LOVE to see what you make with this stamp set, or anything else that this card inspires you to make!  Go follow Stampin' Through the Catalog's account on Facebook & Instagram to have your creative heart be filled with buckets of inspiration!  😍

Please let me know if you have any questions on anything!  I would love to help you get your hands on this amazing bundle or any other Stampin' Up! products!  Or help you with any of your papercrafting needs!

Tahitian Sea Turtles!

This card was fun!  A short little backstory ...  I have projects on display in my craft room.  Well as I was in my craft room, I saw a card that just always brings me cheer.  And I thought - I want to make this again. 😂  But with different stamps this time!  So I got to playing, and voila!  This card was born!  (Then stay tuned to see my original card that I copied.)

Colors Tahitian Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White
Inks: Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, VersaMark, BLENDS Markers: Flirty Flamingo
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black, Tahitian Tide, 2022-2024 In Color Textured Speciality Paper
Stamps: Sea Turtle, Charming Sentiments
Tools:  Beauty of the Deep Dies, Sentiment Silhouettes Dies, Gorgeously Made Dies, Heat Tool, Cheery Patterns Embossing Folder (retired), Sponge Dauber
Accessories: Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels,  Basic Embossing Powder

The Tahitian Tide is such a fun, bright & cheery color.  And did you know Stampin' Up!'s 2023-2024 Annual Catalog has textured cardstock in this years In Colors?!  It is on the Specialty Paper section, and it's the 2022-2024 In Color Textured Specialty Paper.  And it is GORGEOUS!  It even has a little shimmer to it...

Also ... did you happen to notice the variation in the turtle color?  Are you wondering how I did that?  Well - easy peasy!  I just inked up the turtles in Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I grabbed a Sponge Dauber, inked it up in Granny Apple Green, and pounced it right over the turtle in a few spots.  Easy, quick, & fun color variation!  (Also look at that fun embossed background!  It is from the Cheery Patterns Embossing Folders.  They just retired from the 2023 Holiday Mini Catalog - I hope you got them! 😀)

Also ... did you happen to notice the color variation in the coral behind the turtle?!  Well ... here is another fun little tip for that!

I used Blends Markers!  First ... I just colored onto a piece of Basic White cardstock with both the Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers.  Now ... for this die ... it is totally okay that it is so splotchy.  I wanted that so you could notice the difference since this is a more intricate die.

So see how splotchy it is?!

But look how cute it turns out when it's all cut out!

Obsessed and in love, honestly.  Hee.  It was kinda painful to hide it behind the turtle.  But I really like the texture and details it adds.  And here are just a few more pics to check out all the details!

I really hope you enjoy this fun & cheery card!  But ... want to see how this all started?!  Well ... here you go! On display in my carft room is this card:

(Which is just truly love so so much still!  Haha.)

But I hope you enjoyed these turtles.  I hope you got some sort of inspiration from this.  And I also hope you let me know any questions you may have!  I would love to help you purchase any Stampin' Up! supplies that you need!  Thank you so much for visiting!

Hopping With Lifetime of Love And Some of the Artisans!

I am SO EXCITED!  This all still feels like a dream & I seriously can't believe I am about to say this.  But ...

My first projects that I designed for this Artisan year are HERE! 💕  Want to hop along with us today and see what we all made?!  Yay!  Myself and four other Artisans have all designed projects using the Lifetime of Love Bundle and want to share them with you!  We each have our own style and there are SO many possibilities with these products!

So without further ado ... here are my projects! (Then keep reading to be linked to my other fabulous Artisans to see what they made! I promise ... it is worth your time!  They are all amazing! 😍 )

Colors Pool Party, Bubble Bath, Parakeet Party, Whisper White
Inks: Pool Party, Bubble Bath, Parakeet Party, VersaMark, Basic Black Marker
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Bubble Bath, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheets
Stamps: Lifetime of Love
Tools:  Lifetime of Love Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Heat Tool, Water Painter, Blending Brush, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder
Accessories: Pool Party 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Iridescent Foil Gems,  Basic Embossing Poweder, Metallics Embossing Powder, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

It was really fun to use this bundle with different colors that you see it used with in Stampin' Up!'s Mini Catalog.  The Lifetime of Love Bundle is part of the Forever Love Suite, and is more of a muted color palette: Moody Mauve, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, & Very Vanilla.   I made these projects with a softer & brighter color palette: Bubble Bath, Pool Party, Parakeet Party & Whisper White.

This card was so much fun to make!  I will share a few details below:

I kept this card pretty clean with some fun texturing.  I really love a bright white card. 💖
  • Die-cut frame from Basic White cardstock.  ***Tip: Add Adhesive Sheets to the back of the cardstock before die-cutting.  This then turns the cardstock into a sticker so it will be so easy to adhere to paper.  Do not remove adhesive sheet backing until ready to adhere.
  • Blend ink and splatter the middle of the card where the frame will be adhered to. ***Tip: lay out the frame onto the cardstock, without adhering it, to use as a stencil.  Make a few marks with a pencil to mark inside of frame.  Use marks as a guide on where to blend ink.
  • Emboss the Basic White cardstock with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.
  • Adhere the frame over the blended ink.
  • Emboss the floral image onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Gold Embossing Powder.
  • Watercolor the flower with Bubble Bath & Parakeet Party ink for a soft look.  Set aside to dry.  Then die-cut.
  • Emboss the greeting with White Embossing Powder onto Basic Black cardstock.  Use scissors to cut out the greeting.
  • Die cut the smallest die from the Perennial Postage Dies from Gold Foil.  Cut in half, and adhere to the bottom of the greeting.
  • Layer it all together with the Pool Party ribbon!
  • Add the FABULOUS Iridescent Foil Gems scattered around the focal point.

This next card is pretty feminine and makes me smile!  (Yes...I LOVE PINK!)  It uses my fave colors: pink & Coastal Cabana! 😍

  • Emboss the pink stripe paper with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. Distress edges with the edge of a pair of scissors and curl a few corners with a bone folder. Adhere to card front.
  • Die-cut two wreaths from Coastal Cabana cardstock.  ***Tip: Add Adhesive Sheets to the back of the cardstock before die-cutting.  This then turns the cardstock into a sticker so it will be so easy to adhere to paper.  Adhere to center of stripe paper.
  • Emboss the the three floral images onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Watercolor the flowers with Bubble Bath & Parakeet Party.  Color in the center of the floral images with Daffodil Delight Marker. Die-cut the flowers.
  • Die-cut 2 of the leaf dies from Vellum cardstock.
  • Use Basic Black marker to ink up just the "love & happiness" part of the sentiment.  Stamp onto a strip of Basic White cardstock.  Cut at a slant.
  • Layer all the pieces and adhere to the wreath!
  • Tie a bow from the white twine and adhere.
  • Add the FABULOUS Iridescent Foil Gems scattered around the focal card.

These cards were a lot of fun to make!  I hope you enjoyed seeing them and they inspire you in some way!  Now it's time to go check out the other Artisan Designers!

Technique Tuesday With Custom Striped Accents!

One of my assignments on Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team is to do share some fun techniques.  My first one was shared at the end ...
