Fabric Swap...

Sorry I haven't posted everyday this week. We have family visiting and have five extra kids in our house. (Ages were nine down to almost two.) We also had some neighborhood kids spend lots of time with us as well...at one point we had 11 kids under nine years old here. :) It's been fun...but crazy!!!

One of the organized swaps I was in at convention was a Fabric Swap. We just needed to make some item with fabric like a quilt square or something like that. Well...I wanted to do a home decor piece and this is what I came up with...
This is a fabric flower on an 8x10 stretched canvas. The flower was made out of the Clear Fabric die for the biggest flower and the Flower Folds die for the smaller die. Then I used a variety of ribbons from the Brights Collection as well as the Neutrals Collection. This one is using a Kraft button. The "smile" was done with the Simple Letters dies and done in Rose Red cardstock. The stem is made of 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon. Here is a close-up of the flower...
(Although don't look too close at the sewing. I'm not so good yet!!!!) And here is a close-up of the word...
I actually had quite a bit of fun making these. You could make a whole series of these with varying flower heights and words and hang them around your house. (That's kinda my plan.) You could use a bigger canvas and do lots of flowers on one as well. Too many fun things to do! :)
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for visiting!!!

Vintage Butterfly...

Next project I want to show you is a card I made for another swap. The first night of convention we usually have a big group dinner and swap. It's a great way to kick-off convention. This year Stampin' Up! planned a FABULOUS "Flower Power" party for all of the demo's. I LOVED that...and although we skipped the group dinner...we still were able to swap with our group at the party. This was the swap I made...
I LOVE that Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder! LOVELY! I sponged over it with Rich Razzleberry ink (the same as the cardstock) to make it pop a bit more. I also sponged the "Newsprint" Designer Series Paper side and the "Newsprint" Designer Series Paper butterfly (cut out with my Big Shot). Then that Pear Pizazz ribbon is just WONDERFUL stuff!!! Anyway...here is a close-up of the butterfly and greeting...
The greeting is from the "Perfect Punches" set...which is just FABULOUS!!!
And look at the background...so gorgeous! :)
Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy!!!

Gift Card Holder Swap...

Wow! Once again...SORRY it's been so long!!! Geez! I meant to post while I was at convention! But since I only got 5-6 hours a sleep each night anyway...I could take any of that precious time to post. SORRY! :) I will make up for it though...I have lots to share so I should be posting regularly again. :)

First thing I want to show you is what I made for an organized "GIFT CARD HOLDER" swap. (An organized swap is a swap that a specific person sets up with a specific theme.) I have seen these around online a lot...so this isn't my original idea. I thought it was so much fun though...

What gal of any age wouldn't love a purse with some money to spend inside?! :) And of course I had to use a pink and brown color combo! I used the Top Note die and Big Shot for the flap. The bottom is a 6x6 piece of Designer Series Paper...cut at an angel to make the sides. Here is a close-up of the flower...
I used textured cardstock for the scallop piece because I LOVE that stuff and the subtle difference it makes. Then the flower is from the "For All You Do" stamp set. I actually did two different color combos...
The one on the left is Regal Rose Designer Paper. Then the flower and scallop are Melon Mambo. The one on the right is Melon Mambo Designer Paper with Pretty in Pink flower and scallop. I did this because I just needed one pack of the FABULOUS Brights Paper Pack! Can I EVEN begin to tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT STUFF?!?!?! I love that you get tons of the colors with one pack! I've been having a TON of fun with it! Anyway...back to the purse...here is the inside...
I put my business card inside where the gift card would go. Isn't it SO MUCH FUN! And with double sided Designer Paper...it is SO EASY to decorate!!!
Thanks for visiting! Hope you enjoy!!!!

July Club Projects...

My GOODNESS!!! I'm sorry for the week that has passed without a post! Geez! Just know...I HAVE been stamping. Quite a bit...actually. I am getting ready for my big Stampin' Up! Convention that starts WEDNESDAY!!! Every year this happens...I try to be prepared and get everything done before I'm stressed the week before. :) Well...it doesn't work out. I sign up for different swap groups (a swap is where everyone makes a certain amount of the same project...cards, scrapbook pages, whatever) and so I have a TON to stamp/assemble before convention! This year I am doing a 12x12 double spread layout swap, a class idea swap, a fabric swap, 3 different card group swaps, a gift card holder swap, and then I'm doing a shoebox swap on Friday night. So there is a LOT of stamping/designing/creating going on. I just can't share it yet! :) But I will have LOTS to share soon! :)

OK...enough rambling. This week was our fun club day! I have a group that meets in the late morning and one in the evening...so I get a fun day of stamping! And I hope they liked the projects we made. First up is the card...
I wasn't sure about the color combo in the beginning but I LOVE it now! It's a Crumb Cake card base, then it's Peach Pizazz (NEW In Color!!!), Concord Crush (NEW In Color!!!), and Old Olive. It's fresh and fun. Here are some detailed shots...
I used the "Dot, Dot, Dot" stamp for the middle of the flower. Just stamped it on White and punched it out. Then used the XL Flower punch for the flower. Oh...and that DSP is from the new In Color Prints pack. LOVE these things!!!!!
And check out that fun self-adhesive rhinestone. And the new FABULOUS poly-twill Peach Pizazz ribbon!!! Oh...and the background is the new Pretty Pattern background.
Next up is the project that we made...
Ok...when I first saw the stamp set, "Got Treats"...I knew I had to have that right away! And how AWESOME it is!!!! I LOVE this set!!! "Got Love" with some milk cartons?! Seriously?!?!? LOVE IT! :) Anyway...so we made two milk cartons and a little container to put them in. I am loving this thing. :) And we used the new color...Cherry Cobbler! AHHHH! Love it! Such a RICH red. Here is a side view...
LOVING those mini library clips that keep them closed on the one side. They are SO cute!!!! And the whole bundle...
Seriously...too much fun!!!
I hope you enjoy! Thanks SO MUCH for visiting! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

Quick With Wallpaper...

QUICK and WALLPAPER don't really go together...now do they?! Well they certainly do when you are using the NEW "Vintage Wallpaper" Embossing Folder and your Big Shot! :) That was the star of the show with the card I made today...
I decided to use some Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizazz, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla on this card. And it's a VERY quick and easy card. I first ran the card front through the Big Shot with the embossing folder. Then I cut off a bit on the bottom of the front. I then took a strip of Basic Black cardstock and scored it every 1/8" to just add some dimension. (I have some close-up's below.) I sprayed the whole front with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. Here is a close-up of that...
And then I punched the oval out of the card front and actually attached the greeting on the inside of the card. The "happy birthday" is from a fabulous new set called "Perfect Punches."

And I know you can somewhat see the lines in the last photo...but here is another close-up of the scored Basic Black cardstock...
I hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for visiting! I hope everyone had a FABULOUS 4th of July holiday!!!!
