Color the World! Stampin' Up! Artisans Blog Hop!

The 2024 Artisan Design Team loves Stampin' Up!'s colors! I mean ... who doesn't?! Hee. We have been inspired by pages 132 and 133 in the Annual Catalog and are sharing a bit of colorful inspiration with you. Have you checked these pages out?! They are so helpful in learning a thing or two about color theory! And easily help you pick out some fun color combos! As Stampin' Up! Artisans ... we want to help give some real life examples in putting this color wheel to work! So let's get started!

My color to create a color combo around was Summer Splash! 😍 I LOVE this color! And I wrote down quite a few color combinations that I wanted to try before I finally settled on an Analogous color combo: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, & Highland Heather. (Analogous means the three colors that are side by side on the color wheel. So for these it was Blue-Green, Blue, & Blue-Violet.) When I started playing with the colors, I realized something. It is giving big "mermaid" vibes to me. Hee. So kinda went with that a little and landed on this fun card:

And just so you know what we are talking about throughout this whole hop ... this is the color wheel you are looking for. (Again ... pages 132-133 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog) It is such a helpful tool to help teach about color and color combinations. (Often the hardest part to come up with on a papercrafting project or even home decor, an outfit, etc, etc. Color theory can be applied to SO many places!)

Now let me share a few details about my card with you!

The fun and colorful background was super easy to do. (And actually a bit different of a look on an Artisan Tip I shared earlier in the year in THIS POST.) Added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Basic White Cardstock. Removed the backing then just added strips of the colored cardstock (again: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, & Highland Heather) to it. Then just ran it through with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.

The rest of the card was just stamping and die-cutting a bunch of elements from the Seaside Wishes Bundle & Beauty of the Deep Stamp Set & Dies and layering them together on a Countryside Corners die-cut shape. Add a greeting, some twine, & some Iridescent Faceted Gems and this beauty is ready! 💗
