Sweet Songbirds Colors...TGIF Challenge 367!!!

COLOR CHALLENGE DAY! for TGIF Challenge 367!!  Yay!  So quick and easy!  Check out my card below to see what I made with the colors, then head to the TGIF Challenge Blog to see the cards submitted by the rest of the TGIF Design Team!  Then...play along and post your project over on the TGIF Challenge Blog!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Colors Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Inks: Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Soft Suede, Basic Gray, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Basic White, Crumb Cake, Pale Papaya
Stamps: Sweet Songbirds
Tools: Songbird Builder Punch, Forever Flourishing Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Heat Tool, Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, Blending Brushes
Accessories: Basics Embossing Powder, 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

This is why I love color challenges!  I would never have thought to use these colors today and I don't use any of these colors on a regular basis.  But it was so much fun to "branch" out!  (Get it...bird card, branch?!  Haha. 😂)  Here are the colors to use!

And here are some more on the details of the card.  I did a bit of "generational" stamping.  Thats where you stamp multiple times, without re-inking.  It gives you different tones of the same color and can add a lot of depth.  I used it on the musical notes, nest, and leaves...

I also used a Blending Brush on the background (started with Basic White cardstock) with Pale Papaya ink.  I wanted that color, but wanted the cardstock elements I added behind the focal piece to subtly pop.  So...same tone, just a lighter color because I blended ink.  Can also get a bit of an ombre by doing this.

All in all...I had a lot of fun making this card and using these colors!  What are you going to make?! I can't wait to see!  Head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog now to check out the rest!  And let me know if you have any questions!  Would love to help you with your papercrafting needs...including helping getting your hands on these fabulous Stampin' Up! products!

Sailboat Birthday Adventure...

Do you know someone that loves sailboats & all things ocean?!  Well me too!  💕 So I made them a fun sailboat card to wish them a Happy Birthday!

Colors Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, White, Gold
Inks: Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers:  Basic White, Thick Basic White, Basic Black, Gold Foil Sheets, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Let's Set Sail, Waves of Inspiration (for Happy Birthday greeting)
Tools: Sailboat Builder Punch, Heat Tool, Scalloped Contours Dies, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Stampin' Spritzer, Blending Brushes
Accessories: Basics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

Let me point out a few fun details that make this card pop a bit.  First up is the "ocean" the sailboat is sailing on.  I first stamped it a few times on the bottom of my cardstock piece in Coastal Cabana ink.  Right after stamping, while it was still wet, I spritzed it with water to let the colors bleed.  You still get the texture from the stamp, but it becomes more "organic" with the water spritzing.

Dry the ocean with a Heat Tool, then add some color on the top using Blending Brushes & ink: Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.  I splattered some water onto that part of the cardstock, and then patted it with a paper towel.  That gives the subtle splatter on the top.  Stamp those cute birds and any greeting you may want in the background, and you have a beautiful background for your sailboat.  Then just add the scalloped edge (die-cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies) for a fun touch of texture.

And this sailboat is so cute and fun!  I stamped the sails in Flirty Flamingo...one I stamped full strength.  And one I stamped "off" before stamping again to get a lighter shade of the same color.  (Stamping "off" just means to stamp on scrap paper first then stamp again without re-inking.)  I stamped the boat in Soft Suede.  Then just punched them out!  (***Tip for builder punches*** punch the punch using a piece of scrap paper first. Then as you stamp each piece...use the scrap piece as a guide to stamp your pieces.  Just line up each stamp over your cardstock, stamp it, and then it is all easily lined up to punch out at once!)

One more view of the whole card with all the embellishments and little touches...

I hope you enjoy!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything!  I would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs.  Stampin' Up! products are the best and I would love to help you grow your collection!!

CASE'ing With Some Kite Delight ... April's Stampin' Fancy Friday!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE April's Challenge for Stampin' Fancy Friday.  I LOVE being on this design team, filled with fabulous designers.  And this month...we get to CASE (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit) a fellow designer!  I am so excited to share my card with you, and then share the card that I CASE'd!!!

Also...I LOVE the Kite Delight Stamp Set in the January - June Mini Catalog!  It is SOOOO cute!  So...on to the card!!!

Colors Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Memento Black, VersaMark  BLENDS: Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink
Cardstock/Papers:  Basic White, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Kite Delight
Tools: Playful Alphabet Dies, Heat Tool, Blending Brushes
Accessories: Basics Embossing Powder, Metallics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

I TOLD YOU!!!!  THOSE KITES ARE SOOOO CUTE!!!  The designer I CASE'd is Jenn Picard at A New Ink on Life! It was TOUGH picking someone from the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team to CASE...I wanted to CASE everyone! 😀 But ultimately I settled on the fabulous Jenn because I loved this card from her!  I love her use of layers, textures, & subtle...yet still bright...colors!  I swapped out the florals for kites just to show how versatile this layout is!  Isn't her card just gorgeous?!

I love it!  And here are a few more pics of the details of my kite card so you can compare!

Want to know about some of the details on this card?!  Well...Blends markers are the star of the show.  I used them to add some ombre color on the bottom of the letters as well as add color to the kites!

I'm just a little bit in love. 😍  I loved how Jenn layered her color in her original card, so I wanted to make sure I had a background to my focal point.  She made hers with the blue flowers in the background, I made mine by using a Blending Brush to add a touch of color behind the kites.  I think stamped some clouds over the blended color. I also added the black splatter like she did.

*** TIME SAVER TIP!! *** When you have multiple images to stamp that you are cutting out (either with scissors or dies), that will all be stamped in the same ink color, it is super easy to just mount them all on the same block and stamp at once!  Here you can see what I did with the kites.  (Although I forgot to take the picture when I had the string with bows on it.  Ooops.)   I put them all on the big block, stamped in VersaMark, and then embossed them all with gold at the same time.

I hope you enjoy this card and Jenn's original.  Make sure you are following along with the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team to see all the card that have been CASE'd for this month!!!  Stampin' Fancy Friday on Facebook and @stampinfancyfriday on Instagram!

Thank you so much for visiting!  *** PURCHASING NOTE *** This Kite Delight Stamp Set is only available until the end of June!  So get it while you can!  Please let me know what questions you have and how I can help!

Hello Beautiful Rainbow!!!

I guess since the TGIF Challenge for the week is on rainbows, I have been thinking about rainbows this week.  😂  So let's hear it for another "rainbow" card!  A bit of a different take than the last one...

...but still a fun rainbow!

Colors Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black, White, Gold
Inks: Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, Memento Jet Black, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black, Gold Foil Sheets, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Vellum
Stamps: Hello Beautiful
Tools: Heat Tool, Beautiful Shapes Dies, Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Bough Punch, Stampin' Spritzer
Accessories: Metallics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels

Have you seen the Hello Beautiful Bundle in Stampin' Up!'s January-June 2022 Mini Catalog?!  It's one of my favorites!  And I used one of the shapes to make the "rainbow" going down the card front!!

(I used the shape circled in the photo.  The shapes next to the stamp set are the dies that come with the bundle, with the actual dies pictured below the first picture. LOVE LOVE this bundle!  SOOOO much you can do!!!)

I first stamped the shape down the card in "rainbow" colors onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (cleaning the stamp before inking up with the next color), I spritzed it with water and let the colors bleed a little.  Then just heat it with the Heat Tool to dry it all.

It really is so easy but so much fun!  After it was dried, I stamped and embossed the little chevron detail in Gold Embossing Powder.

What do you think of this take on a rainbow card?!  It would be fun to do in any color combo!  If you try this...let me know!  Also...I am thinking of making a video to show just how I did this.  Should I?

Thanks so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help with anything!  Would love to help you get your hands on any of the fun Stampin' Up! products you need!
