August Club Projects...

Two weeks ago...we had our club day. Took me awhile to get these posted...but wanted to share our club projects that we made this month. First up is this card...I made this card for one of the card swaps I was in at Convention this year. I loved it so much I wanted my club gals to make it too! So we went for it! :) I LOVE this technique. I took a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Elegant Soiree collection and ran it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder. Then just took a Sanding Block and went to town sanding down the design...and the white from the paper core shows through making it all pop!!! Here is a bit more of a close-up...
The "you are awesome" sentiment is from the "FYI" stamp set that I LOVE! And OF COURSE had to add some self-adhesive rhinestones!!! LOVE those things!!!!
And then just did a little punched border, some Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, and another piece of Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper. Oh...and I stamped the background in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock...and it's the "Pretty Pattern" background stamp. So colors are Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake.
Next up is this fun project using the Matchbox Die...
Where is the matchbox die, you ask?! Well...un-tie the ribbon and open it up...
We cut out two of just the DRAWER part of the matchbox die. We did NOT cut out the folder part that the drawer slides into because we made our own. I thought this was so much fun and you could make this as long as you want by just adding more matchbox drawer parts!!!

I used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper in these two patterns...Here is a close-up of the top...
And a bit of a side view...
Since we did this so long ago...I really don't remember the measurements. But it was really easy to make. Just put the two matchbox drawer parts together and measured them. Then just figured out the measurements from there.
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for visiting...if anyone still does! :)

Dowline Convention Gift...

You know...I'm not even going to apologize for not posting for OVER A WEEK! Because you guys are going to not count it as sincere! :) I have been apologizing for that quite a bit lately! But know that I do feel bad! It's just been a CRAZY summer! This is the first summer that my daughter has become VERY active with friends. And I want to embrace that and be there for her! We've also just had a lot of family stuff going on.

Since I haven't been posting much...I still have stuff from CONVENTION to show you!!!! Geez! :) Today I am going to show you the gift I gave to the gals in my downline that came. I always want to have something for my gals that make the effort to come to convention. I like that gift to somehow incorporate a notebook...because there are SO MANY THINGS to learn at convention we are taking notes all the time!!!!! So this is what I did this year...
It's a little notebook holder with coordinating pen. I had quite a bit of fun making these. :) And I always pictures my gals faces as they receive them as I make them. (I know...I'm cheesy! But it's true! :) ) Here is a close-up of the flower...
I used the Large Scallop Circle and punched out a few. I think "rough" them up a bit by balling them up, smoothing them out, and then repeating. Once the edges of the cardstock kinda start peeling back from each other I carefully pull the layers apart. Then I just layer however many I want on top of each other, added a Baja Breeze circle for the middle, punched a hole through it all and inserted a Rhinestone brad to hold it all together. Then just "fluff" the flower up and you have a beautiful accent piece!
Here you can see the folder opened up. It's just closed with velcro. I don't remember the exact measurements for this...but it's easy to figure out. I just measured the Jumbo Eyelets that I was going to put the ribbon handle through fit in that top part. Then just make your flap for the front as long as you want it. You could do it shorter or longer...whatever YOU want! :) Here is a close-up of the notebook...
I just cut down a Jr. Size Legal pad to where I wanted it. Then I covered the top with some Designer Series Paper and added a decorative element. I obviously wanted them to be able to still rip out the top sheets and still have that accent....so it's just adhered with dimensionals to the top of the legal pad. Easy peasy! Oh...and I used those FABULOUS sticky rhinestones to decorate the flourish a bit! I LOVE those things and SO HAPPY Stampin' Up! sells them!!!! And I LOVE how a bit of sponging just makes the colors POP more!!!! Here is a close-up...
Oh...and the color combo is Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizazz. The Designer Series Paper also has Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie in it. It's the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.
Thanks for visiting! (If anyone still does! :) Hehe) Hope you enjoy!!!! Oh....and can I get a SHOUT OUT for the NEW Large Scallop Punch that fits the 1 3/4" Circle punch that I used here?! I can NOT stop using those two?!?! I'm SO HAPPY!!!!!!! :)

Ronald McDonald Cards...

Hopefully you have noticed the stamp set on the inside of the back cover of the catalog. It's called, "Tag Alongs ". And it's SO CUTE! Well....not only is it a cute stamp set but $2.00 of EVERY one of those stamp sets that is purchased is donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. I love that Stampin' Up! has partnered with such a fabulous charity.

At Convention they had a Ronald McDonald booth. Look at these cute samples that were on display there using the "Tag Alongs" stamp set...

I LOVE the simplicity of this card!!!
And how precious is this?!

Love those rhinestones!!!
And how could you NOT love the penguin?! :)
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for visiting!

Returning to the Artisan Award Topic...

If you follow my blog you remember that I entered the Artisan Award, RIGHT?! :) Well...I found out at convention that I WAS A FINALIST!!!!! There were 22 finalists...and I was one of them!!!! This made me feel better (also a bit worse :) ) that I got CLOSE at least!!! Maybe I will try again now. :) But they announced the finalists at the Awards Night and I got to stand up where I was sitting...they announced my name...and my name was on the Big Screen!!! Here is a pic of the screen... And then I also found some of my projects on the display board. Top left corner is one of my scrapbook pages...
Smack in the middle is my flower card...

And on the shelf is my box with the coordinating candy (I love that they propped the candy up so you could see it!!)...
I actually found all my cards up there as well but I won't share all of them. You've seen them before. :) But thanks for letting me share that I was a finalist! I was really excited about it! :)
