A Little Retro Fresh...

Love the Retro line in the new Occasions catalog.  CLICK HERE to view the catalog.  If you don't have your own copy...simply email me your address (designwithink@gmail.com) and I will send you a catalog free!

Anyway...there is a "Retro Fresh" product line in the Occasions catalog that is so yummy!  Love the colors, patterns, stamps, etc.  It's amazing.  The card I am sharing with you today shows you how to really maximize your Designer Series Paper.  I was making lots of this card, so I just used a small piece of it...but really made it pop.

Here is the card...

Fun, cheery, and fresh, right?!  There are lots of new products on this card.  The embossing folder, the Starburst framelits, the Designer Series Paper, ALL YUM!!!  I love this simple layout.  "White space" on cards is very trendy right now.  I like that this card has the white space but also has some texture in that white space.  I sponged a little over the embossed pattern just to make it all pop.  Here is a close-up...
That burlap ribbon....YUM! YUM! YUM!!!

To me...a color combo is SO IMPORTANT when designing a card.  Finding the right one makes all the difference.  I made the focal point for this card and was trying to decide what color card base the card should have.  Here are a few other card colors I tried...

What do you think?  Is the yellow your favorite as well?  Or is it just me?!  I love how bright and cheery it makes the card.

I hope you enjoy this card!  Let me know if you have any questions!

January Club Project...

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know that I have a monthly club gathering at my house.  This is a group of ladies that get together each month, place orders of whatever Stampin' Up! merchandise they want, and get to make TWO FREE PROJECTS using all sorts of fun Stampin' Up! products that I design.  We always have a great time together.  Today I wanted to share the project we made this month.  I try to help them get ready for any holiday early...so we focused on Valentine's Day this month!  I wanted to keep it just on the "LOVE" spectrum though...so they could really use it for any time of year.

Here is the project...

HOW FUN IS THIS?!  Right?!  :)  Love the banner thing that is SO trendy these days.  Layered banners just make my heart happy!  And LOVE this sentiment from the "Perfect Pennants" stamp set.

Here are a few more close-ups.  This is one of the Kraft boxes we sell. They are SUCH AMAZING quality and so fun to alter!

Now can you tell that the glittery heart is 3D?!  I punched out a heart from Red Glimmer paper and then put a layer of Crystal Effects over it.  Let it try and VOILA!  A beautiful 3D embellishment for any of your projects!

I hope you enjoy this box!  I hope, most of all, that it inspires you to go be creative today!  Being creative does a body good!  :)  Thanks so much for visiting!  If you would like to know more about my club night and how you can be a part of it (whether you are local or not...anyone in the United States can participate!)...just send me an email at designwithink@gmail.com

Christmas Party Make and Takes...

I already posted a little bit about the Christmas party my upline had in THIS POST.  Today I wanted to share with you the Make and Takes she had for us to do.  SO CUTE!  But first...I apologize for the photos.  I snapped them while I was there and then just didn't get around to taking other photos.  But at least you can get the idea and see how much fun we had!

First up is a Rosette "Merry" decor piece.  This is hanging on the door to my stamp room for the winter season.

This is a very heavy "BIG SHOT" project.  Which makes my heart happy!  (I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!  Embossing cardstock/paper, cutting up to 6 layers at once with Bigz dies, framelits that perfectly cut out a stamped image...it just doesn't get much better!)  We used the Rosette die, the Snowflake stamp set and coordinating framelits, the "Merry" word is a framelit as well...just TOO MUCH FUN!  To make this you basically make the three rosettes in varying sizes, adhere them to a strip of paper, add some ribbon to hang, and embellish away!  I definitely want to make more for other holidays!

The next project up is such a fun gift idea for any girl/woman in your life!

This is a jewelry holder with some darling earrings made with Stampin' Up! embellishments.  TOO CUTE!  Love the trendy flowers, glitter paper, ruffled ribbon, etc.  SUCH A FUN project!!!

Last up is a SUPER fun decor piece for Christmas!

It's a rolled Designer Series Paper tree!!!  On a canvas covered in burlap!  AHHHHHH!  I freaked a bit when I saw that we got to make this.  I JUST LOVE LOVE it!  And it's so easy!  Just roll up your paper cut into different sizes, glue onto the canvas (after you glue on burlap), and add any embellishment you want!  Too much fun!

I hope you enjoy these projects!  If you would like more information on how you can join this fantastic group of demonstrators...just let me know!  designwithink@gmail.com

Christmas Gift Swap...

I work with the greatest group of demonstrators in the Stampin' Up! world!  We have such a blast together...we look for reasons to get together as much as we can.  Christmas time is no exception!  My upline had an amazingly fun Christmas party for anyone in her group to come to.  We ate yummy food, chatted and socialized, made some amazing projects, and had the best "White Elephant" gift exchange ever!  We all brought one "Stampin' Up!" homemade item with us.  We then swapped them "white elephant" style.  Everyone went home with a unique homemade gift!  It was a blast!  Today I want to share what my gift was.  I almost forgot to take pictures of it, so had to hurry and do that.  Sorry I didn't get the best photos!  But here is what I brought to swap...

This is a photo frame with a removable focal point.  The rosettes and ribbon at the bottom are hot glued on, and then I just added a small clothespin (from the "Tag A Bag/Box" bundle in the Annual Catalog) right on the glass. This way...the focal point can easily be switched out for a photo, seasonal decor, etc.  And the DSP that is in this frame can be switched easily as well.  Stamping is NOT just for cards/scrapbooks.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE to use it in my home decor!

Here are a few more close-up's...

Love the "Oh, Hello" sentiment with that fun flower.  And those pearls (although maybe not so stand out in the photo) really make this project pop!  And that Chevron oval...does it GET much better than that?!  :)  (The stamp set is the "Oh, Hello" set in the Annual Catalog.  And all the stamps used in this project is in that set. )

I LOVE making rosette flowers with my Stampin' Up! ribbon.  With all the variety of ribbons...you can give a unique look to any project!  And I noticed a SUPER EXCITING thing while making this.  The Burlap ribbon and the Baked Brown Sugar ruffled stretch ribbon look AMAZING together!  Can you even tell what I did?  Look at the wide ribbon...did you notice the ruffles?  I just glued the Baked Brown Sugar ruffled ribbon behind a piece of the HEAVENLY burlap ribbon...and VOILA!  Ruffled Burlap ribbon.  I won't admit to the complete SQUEAL when I saw the finished look of the ribbon.  Ok...maybe I will.  I COMPLETELY SQUEALED with excitement when I saw it.  And some Champagne glitter paper glued in the middle of the Burlap...just in love with it!

I hope you enjoy this project!  Please let me know if you have any questions! (designwithink@gmail.com)  Thanks for visiting!
