Ice Cream Swirl Sweet Treat! TGIF Challenge #479

We have a fun themed challenge for you over on the TGIF Challenge Blog this week!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  I used the Ice Cream Swirl Stamp Set & Dies from Stampin' Up! for my card today ... and I think you will know why when I show you the theme of this challenge!  Hee.  I have been wanting to use these for awhile, so I was so excited to put them to work!  😁

Colors Pretty In Pink, Fresh Freesia, Peach Pie, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake
Inks: Pretty In Pink, Fresh Freesia, Peach Pie, Coastal Cabana, VersaMark, BLENDS: Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake
Cardstock/Papers: Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia, Crumb Cake, Basic White
Stamps: Ice Cream Swirl
Tools:  Ice Cream Swirl Dies, Small Blending Brushes, Sponge Dauber, Dashing Designs Embossing Folder
Accessories: Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Iridescent Faceted Gems, Basics WOW! Embossing Powder

Can you guess what the challenge may be?!  If you guessed a SWEET TREATS themed challenge ... well you are correct! 💖  But my card goes even further ... I basically just made my card like this challenge graphic!  🤣  The crazy part ... I didn't even mean to!  I had making this challenge card on a "to do" list of mine - but I just wrote down what the challenge was.  I hadn't seen the graphic in awhile.  Then when I went to look at the graphic - I realized I basically made this card!  Haha.  How funny it turned out like that?!  😍

Here are a few photos of the details on the card and then I have a few photos showing how I did some of the details!

Want to know how I did that ice cream?!  I really love how it turned out!  But basically ... I used a piece of Basic White cardstock, a few Small Blending Brushes, some ink, and a Water Painter!  Just blend some ink in the colors of your choice (I used Pretty In Pink, Fresh Freesia, and Peach Pie) onto the cardstock, and then splatter some water from the Water Painter onto the blended ink.  Dab with a paper towel, and you have that fun splatter!

I have done polka dots like this before, so if you have followed me for awhile, sorry for the repeat!  😁  But I just took a sponge dauber, inked it up, place it on the cardstock and "swirl" the dauber in place - just to get a good concentrated polka dot.  I love doing this!  So easy to have such a cute polkadot background in any color you want! Then I just embossed the cardstock panel for some more texture!

So what do you think?  I think I am ready to go grab an ice cream cone!  Hee.  I hope you enjoy this card!  Now you can head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog & see what fun inspiration the other designers have for you!  Then make your own and share with us!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help getting your hands on any Stampin' Up! supplies!

Life Is Sweet With Artisan Alternatives! Paper Pumpkin June 2024!

The Life Is Sweet June 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit is one of my favorites.  And I get to share a few alternatives using this kit!  I have already posted one of them, as well as photos of the kits contents (to see that post, click HERE), and today I am sharing a second one!

This card is made using pieces from the kit as well as the stamp set in the kit, the EXCLUSIVE Paper Pumpkin subscriber die set that coordinates with the April, May, & June kits, & the Seaside Wishes Bundle.

This photo below may make you think this is just a regular card, but it is much more than that!  This card is actually a fun group card AND bonus mini album!  Want to check it out?!

This is the card from the front.  I love how the Peach Pie ribbon pops against the Pretty In Pink card base.  The floral frame is from the kit, and the vellum underlay is also from the kit ... I just embossed that piece with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.

Then you untie the ribbon ....

...and flip the Pretty in Pink card front to partly open the card.  I love the die cuts and stamps from the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set & Dies.  Then the fun frame is from the Paper Pumpkin EXCLUSIVE Die set, Thanks & Beyond.  😍  (This is available as an add-on purchase for Paper Pumpkin subscribers ONLY!)

Then flip the Summer Splash card and ...

... SURPRISE!!!  A place for a photo and some cards (in the pockets of the envelope used to make this card!)

Both envelope pockets have cards inside where you could either put more photos and journaling or have your group write notes to the recipient!  You could even add more cardstock pieces if you needed to!

Here are a few more pics of the details:

I used a lot of the card bases and pieces from the kit as accents.  And the stamp set from the kit as well for the sentiments.

Want to know how I made it?!  Well here you go!  It is so easy!

You take two envelopes from the kit, and adhere them to a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock.  Then repeat for the other side with another piece of cardstock ... so the envelope flaps and sandwiched between the two.  This creates a really sturdy album.

Then you just add all the pieces to decorate!

This was so much fun to make!  Let me know if you have any questions on making one yourself!

Thank you for visiting!  I would love to help you with all you papercrafting needs so don't hesitate to reach out!

Life Is Sweet! Paper Pumpkin June 2024 - Artisan Alternatives!

I had so much fun making some fun alternatives using Stampin' Up!'s June 2024 Paper Pumpkin, called Life Is Sweet.  This is a FABULOUS kit and I'm a little bit obsessed with it.  Hee.  Today I wanted to share the first alternative card I made!  I used pieces from the kit as well as a few supplies from Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog.  (I will also show the kit itself & the cards you make using just the kit supplies.)

Colors Pretty In Pink, Summer Splash, Lemon Lolly, Basic White
Inks: Pretty In Pink, Summer Splash, Memento Black
Cardstock/Papers: Pretty In Pink, Basic White, KIT CONTENTS: glitter sentiment, banner, lemon die-cut, vellum
Stamps: Leaf Collection, Life Is Sweet (from kit)
Tools:  Blending Brush, Sponge Dauber, Wildflower Designs
Accessories: Linen Thread

Have pictures below showing the details, but here are a few tips I wanted to share:

🍋  Use a Sponge Dauber to "pounce" Summer Splash ink onto the glittery sentiment until the desired color is reached.

🍋  Die cut the frame from the Wildflower Designs Dies twice: once from Basic White Cardstock and the other from one of the vellum pieces in the kit.  Use the scallop frame from the white cardstock piece & the vellum for the inside.

🍋  Stamp the Leaf Collection stamp onto Basic White Cardstock.  Use a Blending Brush to blend Pretty In Pink all over the cardstock - until desired color is reached.

Thanks to a fabulously cute kit ... so this card was really easy & fun to put together!  But as promised ... let me show you the cards you can make with just the kit, the contents that come with it, & the stamp set that is included.  (Not pictured: the Shy Shamrock Ink Spot that also is included.)

CARDS YOU MAKE WITH THE KIT - 3 cards of each design

KIT CONTENTS - so yes there are extras!!! 😍

STAMP SET!! - obsessed and in love! 💕

Hope you enjoy this kit & this alternative card!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything!  Would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!  Tomorrow I will share the other project I made!  AND I use a coordinating die set that is just available for Paper Pumpkin subscribers! ⭐

Forever Forest Father's Day!

Yes, Father's Day has passed.  I apologize that I am just now sharing this card!  However this is a great card, in my opinion, to use any time of year!  😃  Just switch the greeting!  So without further ado ... here is the card I made for my Dad for Father's Day!

Colors Pecan Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Pecan Pie, Basic White, Basic Black, Country Woods Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Forever Forest
Tools:  Nested Essentials Dies, Basics Embossing Folder, Bone Folder (curl edges of cardstock), Water Painter (for splatter)
Accessories: Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins

He love mountains, trees, nature, etc ... so I thought the Forever Forest Stamp Set was perfect!

There is a bit of color variation on the trees, if you can tell, and this is how I did that:

🌲  Ink up tree stamp in Lemon Lime Twist. Lay the stamp block down, with the stamp facing UP onto stamping surface.

🌲  Ink a Sponge Dauber in Granny Apple Green ink.  Pounce onto a few random places on the stamp.

🌲  Stamp onto cardstock where desired.  Repeat for more stamps, creating your background!

🌲  Add splatter using Pecan Pie ink & Water Painter - after the green ink has dried. Just squeeze ink pad together, before opening, creating a little "pool" of ink in the lid.  Squeeze a little water into the brush, pick up some ink, and flick brush in the lid over the project, creating splatter.

🌲  For more texture - after ink has dried - run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with desired embossing folder!

I love how there is so much texture created, without a lot of extra layers.  Extra layers are great also ... so feel free to do that if that is wanted!  This is just another option.  😁

I just finished the card by distressing the edges, and curling a few with my bone folder.  Then tied some twine around, added the greeting & some sequins, and added a layer of fun woodgrain paper behind the main card front panel.

What is your fave detail?!

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you enjoyed this card and you found some sort of inspiration in it!  Please let me know if you have any questions or I can help you with anything! Would love to help you with your papercrafting needs!  And if you need help getting any Stampin' Up! supplies ... and live in the US ... please let me know!

Seaside Wishes Mini Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!!!

Time for another Mini Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!!  🙌 Woot! 🙌  Today a few of us on the team are sharing projects using the Seaside Wishes Bundle! If you haven't played with this bundle yet, what are you waiting for?!  It is FABULOUS and one of my ☆ FAVE ☆ new items from Stampin' Up!'s NEW Annual Catalog!!!

Am I allowed to say that I really love these projects?!  Hee.  Again ... this bundle is SO MUCH FUN to work with!  Here is a photo of it ... before I explain a few things & how they work.

The bundle comes with a hybrid embossing folder, a set of dies, and a stamp set.  And of course, they all coordinate SO beautifully! Here is a pic of the whole bundle!

Cute bundle, huh?!  Well let me explain some of the magic of what this bundle can do!  Check out this card, and what do you notice about it?!

Colors Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Pretty In Pink, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lolly, Basic Beige, Versamark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black, Gold Foil, 2024-2026 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Seaside Wishes
Tools:  Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder, Seaside Wishes Dies, Heat Tool
Accessories: Linen Thread, Basics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Faceted Gems

Can you tell that I embossed, die-cut AND added color the the three sand dollars above in one swoop?!  🤯  (Well ... I did do this three times to get three different colors.  But I have extra sand dollars to make more cards!)

If you haven't seen a hybrid embossing folder yet, here is how it works:

🪸  Open the folder.  Add desired ink color to the side of the folder with the Stampin' Up! logo on it by just pouncing your ink pad on the folder.

🪸 Lay the coordinating die over the sand dollars, as shown in the photo below.  You want the side of the die that cuts the cardstock facing UP.

🪸 Lay your cardstock (I used Basic White on this card) down over the die/inked embossed folder.

🪸 Run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and VOILA!  Inked, die-cut, AND embossed GORGEOUS sand dollars! 😍😍😍

🪸 Repeat for any additional colors!  Just clean embossing folder before each color! (You also could ink up each sand dollar with different colors.  Just use a Blending Brush or Sponge Dauber to add color.  I just wanted some extra sand dollars myself.  😃)

Just look how gorgeous the turn out!!

And a few more pics of some details.  I wanted a sublte, but detailed, background for the sand dollars.  So ... I first splatterd and embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I die cut some starfish from Basic White cardstock & adhered them over the embossed background.  I really love how this turned out.

Added a fun greeting, some FABULOUS Iridescent Faceted Gems, and a few other fun details and this work of art is complete!  (Yes!  They are handmade cards ... which I also call mini works of art!  💕)

NOW ON TO THE NEXT CARD!!!

Colors Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Pretty In Pink, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lolly, Versamark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black
Stamps: Seaside Wishes
Tools: Seaside Wishes Dies, So Swirly Embossing Folder, Heat Tool
Accessories: Basics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Faceted Gems, Pretty in Pink 3/8" Bordered Ribbon

This card was also a blast to make ... and I felt like an artist making it!  Here is how I did it!

🪸 Blend ink onto Basic White cardstock with a Blending Brush.  This card uses Pretty in Pink, Coastal Cabana, & Lemon Lolly.  How PRETTY!  😍  Let ink dry!

🪸 Stamp starfish & sand dollar images in VersaMark over inked background.  Add White Embossing Powder and heat with heat tool until powder is melted!

🪸 Make a "ruffle" accent down one side of the panel by adding a strip of Tear & Tape to the back of the cardstock panel and fold the ribbon back and forth over itself down the whole length of the side.

🪸 Add panel to embossed card front and adhere to card base.

🪸 Add other die-cut pieces, embellishments & greeting!

Hope you enjoyed these cards!  I know I had a fabulous time making them!

Fancy Friday CASE Time!

These challenges are SO MUCH fun!!! May was such a fun month with Fancy Friday!  I hope you followed along!  All of us on the design team were CASE'ing others on the design team!  So as you can imagine ... SO MUCH gorgeous creative inspiration!

Truly ... the hardest part of this challenge is deciding who to CASE!  This month, I picked a card from Verena @simple_stamper to case.  I love her clean, cheerful, & gorgeous style. Her projects ALWAYS make my jaw drop!  I will first share the card I made, and then I will share the card of hers that I CASE'd!  I used her card layout as inspiration, then added some of Stampin' Up!'s NEW In Colors & my fave Sea Turtles Stamp Set!

Colors Gray Granite, Summer Splash, Pretty In Pink, Peach Pie, Basic White
Inks: Summer Splash, Pretty In Pink, Peach Pie, Versamark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Gray Granite, Gold Foil, Lily Pond Lane 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Stamps: Sea Turtle, Submarine Life (greeting)
Tools:  Dashing Designs Embossing Folder, Seaside Wishes Dies, Wildflower Designs Dies
Accessories: Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Basics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Foil Gems

It all ties together so nicely, huh?!  This card definitely makes me smile!  Now ... ready to see Verena's card?!

See why it was so easy to CASE?!  I love it and can think of a million different ways I could CASE this.  But here are a few more shots of the turtle card I did for this time.

🐢 The scallop border is from the Wildflower Designs Dies.  I just cut out the frame, and then cut a piece off to use the scallops behind the embossed piece.

🐢 I used Summer Splash to stamp the turtles.  But for the lighter shade - I simply stamped off onto scratch paper first before stamping the turtle images.  This gives a gorgeous variation of the color!

🐢 Layering some die-cuts, stamped images in different colors, and the turtles & greeting are a fun way to bring interest to the focal point of any card.  I loved how Verena did that in her card and what drew me to CASE'ing it! 💕

I hope you enjoy this card!  Any questions?!  Shoot me an email!  Need to order some Stampin' Up! supplies and live in the United States?!  Well shoot me an email!  I am happy to help with all your papercrafting needs!
