A Little Birthday Love ...

I am a big fan of wrapping a birthday gift in a fun & special way.  However ... I will preface it by saying it is NEVER a necessity.  😁  It is totally okay if you don't get to that part.  Letting someone know you are thinking about them is never a bag thing - no matter how it is packaged.  💖  I try to have a stash of birthday tags & cards around so I can quickly put a little extra "love" into my wrapping.  So this is a quick box/belly band/tag combo to make a fun birthday package!

I used a retired Scalloped Kraft Treat Box from Stampin' Up! (***TIP: I usually stock up on the gift package options Stampin' Up! offers because having these on hand is another way I can quickly make a gift feel just a titch more special.) and just added a fun belly band (easily made with just Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the tag!) & festive tag!

Colors Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Basic White
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Tuxedo Black Memento, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Stargazing Designer Series Paper, retired Scallop Kraft Treat Box
Stamps: Beautiful Balloons, Heartfelt Hexagon
Tools:  Beautiful Balloons Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, Heat Tool, Water Painter, Blending Brush
Accessories: Metallics Embossing Powder, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Adhesive-Backed Lightning & Stars, Ribbon Duo Combo Pack (green stitched), 3/8" Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack (yellow)

I adhered the tag over the seam of the belly band, using dimensionals, so the belly band looks seamless & the tag pops off the box a bit!  And then you just slide the band and tag off at once and easily open the box without tearing anything!

Few tips for the tag:

🎈 Cut Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper just a little bit smaller than the stitched outline of the Scalloped Contour Die.

🎈  Color a watercolor wash using a Water Painter.  Dry with Heat Tool.

🎈  Stamp festive images over the watercolor wash, for a little texture.

🎈  Add some splatter using Water Painter and same ink in the color you did the watercolor wash.  Just get some ink on the top of the Water Painter and flick in the lid, over your project.

🎈  Stamp & emboss the Hexagon shape.  Use a Blending Brush to add some ink to the hexagon to make the sentiment pop.  Stamp sentiment.  (This order will help keep sentiment crisp & not smeared.)
