Tropical Dino Birthday...

Those of you experiencing a cold winter this time of year, are you as over it as I am?!  😂  I am just getting started with the cold winter season where I live, so I know.  I know.  Get over it and just deal, right?!  Well...sometimes you just need a little tropical escape...so I took one with the Dino Days bundle in my stamp room the other day.  😀

Look!  I didn't even use those cute dino's!  I just focused on the palm trees.  This definitely isn't my most favorite card I have ever made, but sometimes it is about the journey, right?!  And I loved my little tropical escape journey that I got to take in making this card!

And the watercolor wash...I just can't get enough.  😀

I Got Published!!!!

I am SOOOOO excited to share some news today!  I got published for the very first time!  WHAT??!?!!  😁😁😁 I submitted a card to a popular papercrafting magazine a few months ago, for the first time!!   I was so surprised when they told me that they wanted to publish my card in their next issue!!!  And that issue was released yesterday!!!  AHHHHH!!!

Soft & Seasonal...TGIF Challenge 241:

You can see I totally stayed on theme! This screams a winter card to me...and I'm sure most people.  So I was going to go a different direction.  But...alas...my hands just started working and Christmas came out!  Haha.  But I LOVE all the fun details...

The ornaments are embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and then watercolored with Seaside Spray ink.  I love the dimension and texture it gives them.  (Also...yes...I'm addicted to watercoloring.  Haha.) 

I also did a double scalloped layer (with Silver Glimmer Paper AND the Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon) AND embossed the Designer Series Paper with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  Texture, texture, and more texture!  😍😍😍

I just really love the focal point and love how all the little details shine.

Shaking With Free As A Bird...

What does a shaking, watercoloring, sequins, AND fussy cutting all have to do with my post today?!  Why...those are some of my favorite things AND just happen to all be elements of a shaker card I made!  It is using the Free As A Bird Stamp Set.  I am so excited to share this card with you!!!

Colors: Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold

Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, VersaMark

Cardstock/Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Shimmery White, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper

Stamps: Free As A Bird

Accessories: Baker's Twine, Iridescent Sequin Assortment, Gray Granite 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder

Those birds make me smile!  Do they have that affect on you?!  Maybe you need to see them closer...

I stamped all of the images onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in VersaMark ink, and embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Then I just used ink and an Aqua Painter to color them in!  I did some of the extra leaves and flower images so I could build up that main bird focal point.  I mean seriously...

There is even a little ribbon/twine touch at the top...

I do love that shake though!

The stamp set I get to showcase is called "The Gang's All Meer."  And it's a FUN set filled with cute little meerkats!  BUT...I wanted to show how you how versatile this set can be!  This stamp set has  fun meerkat images, but it also has some darling "supporting" stamps in the set as well.  So I made one card layout and two cards...one using meerkats, and one not!  What do you think?!   

So things I love about these cards:  WATERCOLORING!  I love a good watercolored image!  Both of the cards have the main image embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then colored in using ink and an Aqua Painter.  Let me show you the specifics on the cactus card first...

Here are the colors I used for this card:  Mango Melody & Pineapple Punch for the sunset background, Granny Apple Green for the cactus,  Melon Mambo for the cactus flowers, and Crumb Cake for the desert sand.

I love the little touch of gold with both the embossing and the little Gold Foil Sheet strip on the side of the card:

I also love the clean white background of the card front, with a touch of texture with the Subtle Embossing Folder on a cardstock layer.

The meerkat card was made the same way:

Gleaming Ornaments Home Decor...

Who likes making home decor pieces with their papercrafting supplies?!  🙋  I have a fun one today...made with the Christmas Gleaming Bundle.  This bundle includes two different sized ornament punches & a FABULOUS stamp set!  Combine those, with a a shadow frame, and you can make this:

Love this festive touch!  Sizing Note:  this is a 9" x 9" frame.  The Brick & Mortar Embossed mat is 6"x6".  And the vase next to it is really tall--not sure the size.  Hee.
