Surfing Santa Notebook ...

Here is a non-Christmas idea using the fun Surfing Santa Stamp Set! I need a notebook, so I decided to spruce just a 3 x 5 one that I had around and add a cover.  So easy to do!

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, Basic White
Inks: Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Memento Black Ink
Cardstock/Papers: Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, Basic White
Stamps: Surfing Santa
Tools:  Perennial Postage Dies, Blending Brush, Water Painter, retired embossing folder
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

Pretty fun, huh?!  You just cut the cover to size (so 3"x5" here), plus a little extra length so you can score and adhere it to the back.  (I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the back!  But it was about 1-1/2" longer ... so I cut it to about 3" x 6 1/2".  Here is a photo from the side:

And then I embossed, stamped a focal point, and just added it to the front!  You can even stamp the inside pages to make it all on theme!

What do you think?!  Would you make something like this?!

Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help getting any Stampin' Up! supplies!  If you live in the United States - I would be happy to help you!

Surfing Santa with Watercolor Pencils!

Sharing a whimsical & festive card made even more cheery by using Watercolor Pencils on Crumb Cake Cardstock.  This is a fun technique for adding subtle color to any of your projects!

Here are the products you will need to make this card!

Surfing Santa Stamp Set (164298)

Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1 (161700)

Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 (149014)

Crumb Cake Cardstock (120953)

Basic White Cardstock (159276)

Lemon Lolly Cardstock (161720)

Pool Party Cardstock (122924)

Brights 6”x6” Designer Series Paper (163775)

Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad (147116)

Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (147114)

Water Painters (151298)

Blender Pens (102845)

Bone Folder (102300)

Small Blending Brush (160518)

Iridescent Faceted Gems (163368)

Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack (155475)

Here are a few tips in making the card!

Ink up the Santa image in Early Espresso ink & stamp on Crumb Cake Cardstock.  Let it dry.  Using Watercolor Pencils, scribble color where desired on the stamped image.  Next, use a Blender Pen to color over the individual colors in the image to make it look pretty!  ***Tip: when switching ink colors - color on a paper towel until the Blender Pen runs clear to avoid color mixing.

Stamp the wave image repeatedly in Crumb Cake ink underneath the surfing Santa.  Use a Small Blending Brush to blend Crumb Cake ink over the waves, adding dimension.

Use a Bone Folder to curl opposite card corners.  This weakens the cardstock fibers, which then allows you to separate it into layers.  Adhere a small square of Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper to the curled corners, creating a little "peekaboo" pop of the paper.

Then just finish the card!

Hope you enjoy!  Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything!  Would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!

Saying Hey Good Looking! With Golden Greenery Watercoloring!

Do you ever make a project and just love it so much you can't stop looking at it?!  I hope I am not alone, because those are my feelings for this card I am sharing today. 😂  Hee.  I made this card WEEKS ago & I literally just can't stop staring at it.  I am major swooning over here.  😍  I will confess, per usual, it is prettier in real life.  Which is a bummer when I'm trying to share something on line.  But hopefully her beauty still shines through whatever electronic you are seeing her on.  Hee.  I think maybe this card will end up being for herself, hahaha.  Cause she truly is so good looking!  😂  (Yes ... I am making myself laugh as I write this.)  Here she is in all her glory!

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Basic Black, Gold
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Saying Hey
Tools:  Golden Greenery Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Unbounded Love Dies, Small Blending Brush, Water Painter, Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Basics WOW! Embossing Powder, Metallics WOW! Embossing Powder

So what do you think?!  Is she as good looking as I think she is?!  😂  I took a few photos of how I did the leaves and got all those pretty colors like they are.  It is SO SIMPLE!  Just a little easy peasy watercoloring!  But here are a few photos to show you! ...

1.  Use a Water Painter to add water to Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Add some ink from the first color you want to add.  (I find working light to dark works well.)

2.  Add more colors in little spots.  You want a good variety of color in the die-cuts, if you want it to look similar to what I did, so small spots works best.  ***TIP ... to get ink in the lid, simply squish the ink pad together a few times before opening.  Then open it up like in the photo and use that little pool of ink to grab some color.

3.  Add the rest of your colors!  The colors that I used are:  Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, & Coastal Cabana.  I think you could even use this as a background just as it is!  Hee.

4.  Just let it dry then die cut your pieces for this gorgeous piece!  (Forgot to photograph that!  Sorry!)

5.  Die-cut a few extra from Basic White Cardstock.  You could use one of the different dies, but I just kept it all the same.  Since there is a lot going on already ... I wanted to keep that part a little more simple.

6.  Dab a little VersaMark ink (I used a sponge dauber and LIGHTLY dabbed) onto different spots on the white die-cuts.  Add gold embossing powder.  Where the powder got either too heavy or in spots I didn't want it, I just flicked some of the powder off before heat seating.  Then just heat seat with Heat Tool until shiny!  Seriously ... can you even?!

I'm sorry ... but I still can't get enough.  Hee.  I just love how this all turned out!  Here are a few more pics in case you want to bask in the beauty a bit more.  Haha.

So what do you think?!  Hope you enjoy!  Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions!  Would love to help you with all your papercrafting needs!  If you need to get your hands on any of these gorgeous Stampin' Up! products (and live in the US) ... let me know!  I can help!

Color the World! Stampin' Up! Artisans Blog Hop!

The 2024 Artisan Design Team loves Stampin' Up!'s colors! I mean ... who doesn't?! Hee. We have been inspired by pages 132 and 133 in the Annual Catalog and are sharing a bit of colorful inspiration with you. Have you checked these pages out?! They are so helpful in learning a thing or two about color theory! And easily help you pick out some fun color combos! As Stampin' Up! Artisans ... we want to help give some real life examples in putting this color wheel to work! So let's get started!

My color to create a color combo around was Summer Splash! 😍 I LOVE this color! And I wrote down quite a few color combinations that I wanted to try before I finally settled on an Analogous color combo: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, & Highland Heather. (Analogous means the three colors that are side by side on the color wheel. So for these it was Blue-Green, Blue, & Blue-Violet.) When I started playing with the colors, I realized something. It is giving big "mermaid" vibes to me. Hee. So kinda went with that a little and landed on this fun card:

And just so you know what we are talking about throughout this whole hop ... this is the color wheel you are looking for. (Again ... pages 132-133 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog) It is such a helpful tool to help teach about color and color combinations. (Often the hardest part to come up with on a papercrafting project or even home decor, an outfit, etc, etc. Color theory can be applied to SO many places!)

Now let me share a few details about my card with you!

The fun and colorful background was super easy to do. (And actually a bit different of a look on an Artisan Tip I shared earlier in the year in THIS POST.) Added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Basic White Cardstock. Removed the backing then just added strips of the colored cardstock (again: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, & Highland Heather) to it. Then just ran it through with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.

The rest of the card was just stamping and die-cutting a bunch of elements from the Seaside Wishes Bundle & Beauty of the Deep Stamp Set & Dies and layering them together on a Countryside Corners die-cut shape. Add a greeting, some twine, & some Iridescent Faceted Gems and this beauty is ready! 💗

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather, Basic White
Inks: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather, Basic White, Basic Black, Adhesive Sheets
Stamps: Beaty of the Deep, Seaside Wishes
Tools:  Seaside Wishes Dies, Beauty of the Deep Dies, Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, Small Blending Brush, Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Basics WOW! Embossing Powder

What do you think?! Do you have a favorite accent or element?!

A Little Under the Moon with Dophins!

Just wanted to share a quick card today using Stampin' Up!'s Under the Moon Stamp Set!  This set is so perfect for a quick stamped card ... that is still gorgeous and full of depth!

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Petal Pink, Peach Pie, Lemon Lolly, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Basic White
Inks: Petal Pink, Peach Pie, Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray
Cardstock/Papers: Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Thick Basic White
Stamps: Under the Moon
Tools:  Countryside Corners Dies, Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, Water Painter (for splatter), Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Basics Wow! Embossing Powder

I first cut out a Countryside Corners piece then did my stamping right on that.  A few tips:

🐬  Ink up the moon in Petal Pink.  Then use a sponge dauber to "pounce" some ink onto the clouds.  Then stamp onto the cardstock!

🐬 Stamp ocean image twice.  First time stamp right under the moon.  Then turn the stamp upside down and stamp it right under the first ocean stamp.

🐬  I used clear embossing powder on the dolphins to give them a little "jumping out of the ocean" glow.  Hee.  Can't tell in photos but is a fun subtle touch when you see it in person.

But just a few layers and and one embellishment and you have a fun card to give anyone you need to say thank you to!

Thank you for visiting!  I hope you enjoy this card!  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything!  Would love to help you get your hands on this cute stamp set from Stampin' Up! or anything else you need!

Artisan Fun With the Regal Flora Bundle!

Is it time again?!  Time again to hop around with some of Stampin' Up's Artisan Design Team?!  Why YES! Yes it is!  😀  Today we are sharing projects we made with the Regal Flora Bundle.  This bundle is actually part of a gorgeous winter suite ... but we are switching things up a bit!  Instead of using the full suite, we are just using the bundle!  And NOT using colors in the suite!   I LOVE doing this because I think sometimes you can get stuck on a particular "vibe" - depending on how you first saw a certain set of products.  Well let us help you see outside the box!  Come hop along and see what we made using different colors with the Regal Flora Bundle!

A bit different then what you have maybe seen of the Regal Flora Bundle, huh?!  Hee.  (If you haven't seen this suite of products yet ... click HERE to see Stampin' Up!'s Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog.  Then go to page 34-35 to see it!) And I ♡ LOVE ♡ it!  I also love how you can use basically the same supplies and colors and get two totally different "vibes!"

But let me show you each project a bit better!

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Petunia Pop, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Petunia Pop, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Azure Afternoon, Basic White, Basic Black
Stamps: Regal Flora
Tools:  Regal Flora Dies, Cute Crochet Embossing Folder, Small Blending Brush, Bone Folder, Water Painter (for splatter), Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Basics WOW! Embossing Powder

This first card was really fun to make.  There is a piece of Designer Series Paper as the base of the card (from the Bright & Beautiful pack).  I love the texture this easily gives.  Then the Azure Afternoon panel is stamped & embossed to add some gorgeous texture without extra bulk.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE that detailed die that is peeking out of the side of this panel.

The florals and leaves are stamped, die-cut, & layered to create a gorgeous focal point.  I blended some ink over the leaves so the flowers with the white outline would pop ... and the leaves would blend and play a more "supporting" role.  😃

The way that greeting pops too ... I just love the boldness of this card! 💖

This next card, I continued on with the same color palette, but in a more subtle way.  That white card base makes the colors pop, but yet tones it all down.  Which do you prefer?!

All supplies are from ©️ Stampin' Up!

Colors Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Petunia Pop, Basic White, Basic Black
Inks: Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Petunia Pop, VersaMark
Cardstock/Papers: Basic White, Basic Black
Stamps: Regal Flora
Tools:  Regal Flora Dies, Fern Embossing Folder, Small Blending Brush, Water Painter (for splatter), Heat Tool
Accessories: Iridescent Faceted Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Basics WOW! Embossing Powder

I love the interest that the panels create.  They are so easy to do also.  Just cut out a few panels, stamp, blend, then splatter.  Layer together, offsetting for more interest, and add your focal point.

I used that gorgeous detailed die because how could you not?!  It is SOOOOO gorgeous!  😍😍😍

And kept it simple with just one of the floral die-cuts and a leaf.  I used the same Basic Black with embossed white greeting cause I love how it pops!

What do you think?!  Which card is your favorite?!  What technique or detail do you want to try?!  I would love to see anything you make with this bundle! AND ... I am so excited to share with you what others on the team made!

Because guess what?!  YES!  So much more gorgeous inspiration to come!  And it is time to keep hopping!

Need a Treat?! With Autumn Abundance Paper Pumpkin Kit!

I shared two alternative cards using the Sept 2024 Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit, called Autumn Abundance, in THIS POST and THIS POST.  Today I am sharing another fun alternative! This time, I took the small card in the kit, added a few score lines, and made a little treat holder!

Here it is with a treat inside:

And what it looks like without a treat inside!

I love that little peekaboo window!

I added a piece of the one of the other cards on the inside & stamped a greeting.  Here is what it is opened up ...

Then you just add your treat and you've got the cutest treat card! (And if you didn't want to do a treat ... any small gift would be so much fun added!

I hope you enjoy!  Thank you so much for visiting!  Please let me know if you have any questions and if I can help you get your own Paper Pumpkin Kit in the mail each month!
